Has anyone else had it where you score a perfectly good goal, and even on the lines it shows you player is clearly onside, yet he is given offside. Anyone else had this?

It's a simulation game, not FIFA. Officials will occasionally get things wrong, and if you complain post match they will stay silent if you're right.

Bad luck but it happens to everyone, most decisions are correct in my exp though

i've had it where a player was clearly about 5 yards onside with 2 defenders and the keeper between him and the goal but i didn't mind too much as i was 3-1 up in the 82nd minute anyway but it could have been crucial if it was a tight game. then again i have seen some very tight ones given correctly so i'm guessing it is just down to the ref on the day.

I suppose, but in FM11 with the added feature of the lines to show the d-line and your strikers line it looks silly when they get it wrong..

Yea i've had them go either way, Just found it strange really

Yeah, but the referees don't see that do they? (/linesman) just like IRL, there's no goal line technology or whatever, we as the TV audience have the benefit of replays, but they don't, thus it's realistic

and the line thing is just like it is on match of the day except you don't see it normally first like the linesman would.

I understand your point, it just seems asif SI are emphasising the mistakes officials make with these lines

Good argument for using TV officials irl

thast the whole point, simulating real life. I think its really good, and frustrating, i've had a couple chalked off that were legitimate, adds to whole character of the game (was fuming though!)

Maybe you didn't notice, but in earlier versions the commentator makes it clear when it's actually wrong decision, he'll say something like "That looked offside from here!" or "Surely he took a dive there!" so its not really a big deal, its just an improvement.

What I'm trying to say is the game has always incorporating wrong decisions by the ref, it's not a new feature or a bug.

I've had one given that was about 3 yards offside which was nice :D whilst watching the game I called the offside so was surprised to see it given. I think the assistant referee must have been scratching his **** at the time or something cos it was blatant :P the replay confirmed the offside and the opposition manager complained after the game but received no sanction (obviously)

It happens from time to time, not too often though.

However, I'm willing to forgive most incorrect decisions only because of my Ipswich game I did with my mate on last season's FM - he finished first with Sheffield United, and because I lost to him on the last day of the season, I dropped into the play-offs. Got past Bristol City alright, but took on favourites Newcastle in the final. 1-1, tense game, then Djalo pops up and bags a late winner and he is about seven miles offside! Seriously, it was the biggest mistake I've ever seen on any FM game. Officials didn't spot it however, and the goal sent us up. Wiped the smirk right off my my mate's ugly mug, classic.

one thing I love the most about fm is wrong judge calls <3...
sry for eng... im death drunk.. :/

I remember reading it somewhere on football manager homepage that they add this new feature to allow you to witness a "bad offside call" so as to make it more realistic and understand the frustrations of a real football manager when such a situation arise.

I think, overall, people will want the game as realistic as possible. Those differences may frustrate you at the time, especially when they are blindingly obvious, but in the end, the idea of realism wins most people over.

I won the Uefa Cup with Napoli on fm 10 because of an offside goal, extra time, 3-2

Although frustrating when it doesn't go your way, this is a great feature to have. More realism = Better game when it comes to Football Manager.

Little off topic (but yet again not) Its not always I get the line if the player was in offside or not. Is there a way to get it on every offside replay? (I do get it sometimes, just not always)

Watch full match, instead of key highlights/extended highlights
