Inexplicible Loss of form....

Well lads, not really new to the FM series - ive played loads of previous editions and nearly always had great success - but recently my team have completely lost all their form. never had these problems on the older patches and this is my first game on 9.3

I genuinely believe the players stats are good enough, squad morale is decent, and the tactics i tend to use are solid and varied. any other ideas as to what may be happening? i am actually stumped!

i always have a run during a season where my team just turn completely ****. was 11 points clear with about 6 games left, expected to win the league easily. came down to the last day of the season and i only won the league by one point because of my poor run of form.
Happened in every FM and CM game ive had before, guess it happens to evey team at some point in the season if you think about it?

try giving a couple of reserve or youth team players who are performing well a littl run in the first team. this can boost their morale and remind your first team players that their places are not guaranteed. your first team players will get a little itchy on the bench and want to show you their ability when they get their chance to play again.

yeah there is always a part were you suck for a run of games, just ride it out, perhaps play more negative to stop conceding as many goals

yh, every1 hit a point in a season where your team starts to lose form have a bad run of games..

when that happens to me i tend to give my stars players a rest for like 3 games eg fabregas, guardado, senna, adebayor and etc and let the frigne playersplay since they are fresh.

or try offer new contracts to increase their morale..the better your players morale the better your performances.

change your tactics all the time.....i use different tactics every single game...try downloading Lee's tactics and one other that suits your team and change them every week....adjust the sliders to adjust for the pitch and favourite or not.

flat spot goes away...its kinda spread out over the season....lots of score draws....

Thats the worst advice ive ever heard of. The point is to use the same/similar tactics every game to help your team gel.

well it won me the EPL and other trophies so its not the worst advice in the world......Lee's tactics (all four variants) and the Boro tactic have served my squad well.

i guess the overiding message is that you shouldn't play the same all the time....the AI will hump you.

the only problem i have is gettin my god dam strikers to score. boyd is doing my nut in. hes so ****** lazy.

There is smth wrong with this manager. First half of season i beat every team 3:0 and so on with same players. Here comes Euro cup. I lost ...AND IT STARTS. Poor run all 2nd side of the season. Strikers canot score a goal anymore, always rating 5,5. I lose at home even playing against outsiders. Team even can not create a normal chance to score. old tactic doesnt help, new tactics do not help. Even then players morale is v.good/superb, they canot win. Sucks. It is far from real football. maybe players get too tired in 2nd half of season ? but condition is always 95-100%.

I would agree, but tweaking just a little bit is often enough, I played a whole season with my defence as high as possible and playing offside and it was almost a joke, the AI learned, I came back to normal defense, then when they start attacking at the end of their game I do it again, little things can change a lot and don't disturb the players too much.

Think AI understands your tactic every half season (this is pure hypothesis) so a good thing could be using another tactic for easy games, or changing and wait four or five games to get the players used to it) never had the problem of loss of form myself.

ok think i've cracked it......... to do with pressure. they never said anything before but after a couple of comments they started mentioning they were relieved to not feeling pressurised.

after a very good run with a low rated team in the division, my players werent used to big results being expected of them every game to keep up my encouraging run which had us primed for automatic promotion. bigger teams may not have this problem. just goes to show the importance of man management, press confs and team talks. results are bit better now, but damage has already been done.....******* play offs will be a nightmare!

could be perfectly, actually this is a very good poitn we don't know for sure... after 300hours of game I'd liek to know...
