I've noticed that when I scout a lot of regens the report comes back saying they're injury prone. It's quite common and it's always the really good ones. I'm very hesitant to buy injury prone players for obvious reasons, especially if they want a hefty fee for a potentially world class player. Has anybody come across this or is it just my own misfortune?

It's not just you, it has been that was for last 3 FMs. You get 'damaged' regens 90% of the time. They in most cases lack something, its either consistency, injury proneness or lack of a key attribute for his role ( like lack of work rate or team work for defensive midfielder).

If they are 4.5/5 pot I would buy them anyways. Put them on special training schedules, make sure to loan them out to clubs with good playing chances/training grounds and keep them as investments for the future.

That's a great way to make money.

Edit: oh and I do this, just in case you're wondering if it's a viable option. But if you don't play him, you need to make sure he gets proper game time somewhere else otherwise he won't reach his potential and you'll get less return on the investment.

I've found that for the last few years. Players with high stamina but low natural fitness.also I've noticed that most regens with high speed never have any other good stats, but you'll get a great technical player who's so slow. It's unrealistic to think that there isn't young players coming through that have well balanced attributes.

Thanks for the advice. Got these two injury prone young centre backs. Both have really good mental stats so i'm going to take a chance with them and invest my time into them. Fingers crossed!

FM 2014 regens are the worst i have ever come across. You do get talented regens no doubt about that but their stats distribution is very poor all round compared to their natural positions. At their peak these wonderkid regens still lack a lot. Their stats tend to be extremely good on one column like physical and the rest are average or plain poor for a player CA190/PA190. This has been the story in all my FM saves and i cannot play anymore. The game is being filled with crappy useless regens.

As for hidden attributes, yeah we get a lot of injury prone wonderkids and those that cannot deliver in the big games when you need them to. Its a huge concern for me as well. Something is just not right. Too many good players retiring and sadly not enough replacements of similar quality generated by the game
