Hey

I am working on a tactic and i want my 2 inside forwards aml and amr to act like poachers, exactly like poachers, to stand highest on the pitch and run onto through balls, kind of chicharitos but on the wings, i keep trying but i just cant get them to run in the holes all the time, can someone help me?

What ppm's do your players have, that will make a big difference

One thing that would help is pushing them up to FR/L, which ensures they play higher, up against the full-back.

the current team im using is barcelona so david villa and pedro
david villa: beats offside trap, moves into channels, tries first time shots
pedro: gets into oppositions area, tries first time shots

David villa is the best poacher in the game as far as i know, so his ppm's shouldn't be a problem, but i don't know how to set him up
With pedro it's a different problem cause his more a winger type but he has the finishing speed and off the ball to be a poacher

I dont want them to play against the full back i want them to move inside and make runs so iniesta and xavi play them free for some ccc's.

Set their mentality to very attacking and run from deep to 'rarely' so that they play very high up pitch, and maybe 'move to channel' wideplay. But I don't think you'll get success with this since they won't offer much help in the build-up proccess. Because this ,setting your striker to drop deep and play through ball will help more.

So you want people in wing positions....to cut inside to score? Why not play them centrally? Some players like Aguero move out wide to receive the ball, then cut inside for a shot on goal. I just played him as an Advanced Striker and he was always roaming out.

If you want a proper movement, set run from deep to often. I haven't seen any kind of proof that run from deep setting makes players drop deep first, and at least when using a striker he stays in a lower position with run from deep set to rarely, at least with high normal mentality.

If it can help i can give you more details on how they should act. I want them to be either fr/fl or aml/amr and play as inside forwards, i want them to be the highest players on the pitch but i also want them to be passing options for my full backs and my mcr and mcl, i don't want them to be too high so every pass to them needs to be long and unsafe. i want them to run in between the full back and the centre back when im in possesion so they are ready to receive a through ball from either xavi, iniesta or messi.

I have tried differents things and i notice that even though i put them as inside forwards and move into channels they tend to run to the byline, when they have the ball, i want them to cut inside og play a pass to my midfielders and maybe run from deep to receive a through ball right after, you know one-two passing. i dont want them to run to the byline and just stand there 2 seconds and get tackled.

You should tinker with the team width, if playing very wide, they propably make runs near the touchline, but with more narrow approach they sometimes make run between the fullback and centre back. Make sure they have roam from position, so that they sometimes look for space in a more central position. If possible, use inverted players altough using move into channels as wide play, right footed players on the left side of the pitch naturally cut inside in most of the cases.

Vertical movement is very hard to do in FM, horizontal movement is much easier. You should try using 3 AMCs, so that Messi is the AMC, while Villa and Pedro are AMCR and AMCL. Then set their wide play to move into channels, run from deep often and high mentality. Run with ball sometimes. Also in this case use wider width.

I actually have same kind of approach in my own save (STL-AMC-STR), which works quite well. I have same kind of problems in their movement, but it isn't first thing in my priority list, so will look into it later. Sometimes it works quite well though...

Im playing narrow, very narrow actually, 3 clicks from left i think. they have roaming too but theres still something missing. which team are you playing with? are you using 3 midfielders, one dm and to cm's?
