Ipswich owner Marcus Evans has sensationally sacked newly appointed manager, Mick McCarthy after a string football and non football related incidents.
Mick McCarthy has not enjoyed life at Portman road thus far and has quickly been put out of his misery by Ispwich owner, Marcus Evans. After a string of disappointing results, player bust up's and finally a gambling scandal, Evans has decided enough is enough and relieved the former Wolves boss from his post.
It came to the media's attention two days ago that Mick McCarthy was being question by the FA over his involvement in a gambling syndicate within the Skybet Schampionship. No charges or bans have been applied but Ipswich owner, Marcus Evans has decided to apply his own.
"It just got to the stage where Mick was making to many headlines off the pitch than he was on. Ipswich football club are trying to make a change, we are trying to regain a spot in the Premier League and such distractions are just making it near impossible. We wish Mick all the best in his future endeavors." said Marcus Evans.
Evans remained coy when asked about McCarthy's predecessor, not giving anything away.
"The club has to step away from all this and take a moment to think, once we have assisted the FA in what they need and got our head straight we will go ahead and pursue a new manager."
Malky Mackay is the hot favorite to replace McCarthy after he too was sacked by his club, Premier League side Cardiff. Mackay has been vocal about the interest in the position surely giving Marcus Evans plenty to think about.
"It's a shame, that's for sure. No one deserves to go through this but that's football isn't it? I'm flattered by all the speculation and it certainly is a job that I'd be interested in but that's out of my hands. It's up to the owners to approach me at the end of the day and I've heard nothing so far." said Malky Mackay.
Other suitors such as former Nowrich manager, Chris Hughton and former Swansea man, Michael Laudrup have been linked to the helm at Ipswich.
Ex VFB Stuttgart player and youth team manager, Sebastian Fring has been spotted at Portman Road early this morning.
It is reported that Fring has met with Marcus Evans to discuss a possible move to the Skybet Championship side.
Fring is a suprise candidate for the role not as he is yet to manage a top flight side. Fring whos is 44 enjoyed a long career with Bundesliga team, VFB Stuttgart before taking a youth team coaching role.
It is said that Fring has been wanting to take his career to the next level and take on a senior managerial role. If the rumours are true it is expected that Fring will sign a 3 year deal with the finer details unclear.
The possible move has sent shock waves throughout the Ipswich faithful with Fring getting mixed responses from the fans.
"He was a cracking player, yeah. I donno if he can manage and if he is the man to lead us to where we wanna go. I heard he's a bit of a nutter as well but to be fair if he wins us games I couldn't give a ****!" said John Lewis who is a season ticket holder.
"I'm excited, youth and energy that's what we need! Yeah he may be a bit backward and he may be German but look at Mourinho, he's bonkers and Portugese!" said Matthew McLinden the founder of the Ipswich FC fan club.
Marcus Evans played down speculations but did nothing to squash them remaining very vague when approached about the appointment of Sebastian Fring.
"Nothing has been decided, yes we have spoken to Sebastian but that's all it was. He is interested in the position and we are obviously interested in having him here but at the moment it's all just interest, nothing more." said Marcus Evans.
Fring however was very confident and showed everyone why he has an eccentric reputation.
"I think the deal will be done in a few days, the meeting went well. They asked me to fly to England and I accepted so I think we both know why we came together. It's like a boy and a girl in a nightclub, you don't leave together to play chess! Hahaha!"

Just 24 hours after meeting with Ipswich owner Marcus Evans, Sebastian Fring has been appointed as the new Ipswich Town FC manager.
The move was a shock to much of the footballing community however there is no doubt about the intrigue that comes with his appointment.
Fring and Evans were both delighted for everything to fall into place and either of them can wait any longer to get started with the rebuild.
When asked on his feelings towards signing with Ipswich, Fring was all smiles.
"I'm very happy to be here, I have always wanted to live in England. Mr Evans and I came together and both shared our goals for the future and luckily enough they were matching. I'm excited to be in England, I'm excited to be in the Championship and I am certainly excited to be at Ispwich Town Football Club. I am certainly happy I moved my daughter away from that boy she was seeing in Frankfurt too!"
The reporters and neutrals alike fell in love with Fring's jokes and persona. However Marcus Evans was a much more serious man when it come to the appointment.
"By all means we are happy to have Sebastian here but there is still a lot of work to be done if we want to get to where we are going. Despite Sebastian's nature he knows what needs to be done and is confident he can do it. We are all behind him in his quest as we move forward to a common goal."
When Fring was asked about his squad and how he will mold it he was surprisingly open.
"There are certain players that will move on and I have my eyes on a few that I want to join me here at Ipswich. I am not a man of policies or philosophies, to stick to a certain guideline is stupid. All players are different and we need to accept that."
Ipswich manager Sebastian Fring has sprung to life, wasting little time at all in adjusting his squad. The first move came when Fring sold Ipswich youngster Frank Nouble to Scottish giants, Celtic for a fee of 1 million pounds.
A surprising move to many of the Ipswich supporters who were hoping to hold onto the youngster for another season. However Fring saw now as the perfect time to cash in and bring some fresh faces into the squad.
"It's a shame Frank had to go, he is a player with amazing potential but when a big club like Celtic comes knocking it's hard to say no for both parties. At the end of the day we got what we requested and Frank got what he requested, everyone is happy."
However it's not all losses with the new boss quickly signing a mixture of veterans and youth to bolster the squad for the coming campaign.
The captures have intrigued and been hailed by members of the media and the fans alike. Specifically the signing of Vicente on a free transfer.
The three players bring width, pace and stability at the back which will surely leave them in good stead for the season coming.
Vicente only had kind words to say for his new boss in a press conference where he was unveiled by Sebastian Fring.
"I'm very pleased to be playing football again, especially in England. Ipswich is a great club who I have come up against many times so I can't wait to join the team and get settled."
"The decision was easy for me when Sebastian confronted me about a possible move. Sebastian's vibe and energy is enough to bring any career back to life and I'm sure he and I will have a great relationship during the time I spend at Ipswich.
