I know lots of Irish songs, mainly rebel songs but I cant really post links to them here, as I would probably offend people.
Look up anything by the Wolfe Tones, particularly the album 'Let The People Sing'.
It's a fantastic album based around the oppression suffered by the Irish people who were invaded by the British.
The original vinyl album (which I have) contains photographs that were smuggled out of Long Kesh internment camp, which will surprise and upset you.
They are very similar conditions to the **** death camps.
These are the most evocative tracks on the album.
A Nation once again
James Connolly
Come out you black and tans
On the One Road
Sean South, of Garryowen
The Men Behind the Wire
You should also look up the band Aslan, a Dublin band who never hit the big time because of their excessive drug taking.
Some good music over the years though.
