Its an all too similar situation as David Beckham.
Prime at United.
Worse at Madrid.

You got it spot on in my opinion.
I think he wont be able to do better than in 07/08 for ManU. If you ask me the reason he played so well for United was because of 4 things:
1) He's just a really good player
2) Ferguson knew perfectly how to use him best in his squad and aid his development.
3) Is a result of 2) => By playing him as an inside forward on the right flank Fergie let him use all of his strong points
4) I also think his ambition to move to a bigger club and become more famous has contributed a lot to his form at ManU

So now he's at Real and only 1 out of 4 points remain i.e. he's a really good player. So i don't think he'l be doing better at Real... on the contrary

I really dont know. All the spanish games i watch are really boring and cant be bothered to watch them anymore so i cant vote.

What spanish games you been watchin?oO)
Most of the ones i watch are pretty good.:$

He plays as a forward for Madrid so a comparison isn't entirely accurate. Even so, the fact Rooney is playing so much better without him shows that Ronaldo had players working hard to make HIM a better player. Fletch too said he's playing better because he doesn't have to always check where Ronaldo is. Still though Cristiano is still the best in the world imo

Agreed mate. Technically La Liga is a class above the EPL but for 90mins of action the EPL still better. It depends how you like your football :P

I dont watch alot of Barcelona/Madrid games as im normally away or busy. When i have time the lower league teams are playing and maybe athletico madrid and from what ive seen its **** lack of tempo to the game which bores me to death tho ive seen some quality goals but thats different.

I find watching championship teams more interesting.

i watched la liga on sky every time its on. the 3 new big guns dont appear to have found a real place in the team yet. kaka looks half the player he was at milan, and benzema has been practically non existant, higuain is keeping him out the team atm.

Ronaldo hasnt looked as terrifying as he did in a united shirt. but he scored 9 goals in 9 games (now 9 in 12) and i guess thats all that counts. hes had a couple of injuries and also a red card and ban, which cant have helped the settling in process

bullsh!t, last few games Kaka has been at his glorious best.

Ronaldo has been good, probably not as good. consider the season he had in winning world footballer of the year, he's a long way off that at the moment. He may yet have mor eto come however, which is slightly worrying

no need for that, just saying it how i see it. yes hes been good in the past couple of games, but for most of this season (particularly before christmas) hes been almost a passenger

Kaka hasn't been playing as bad as some of you are suggesting. The fact that he isnt standing out in the team doesn't mean he's been playing poorly. I've watched him over the course of the season and it looks like he's been asked to take a backseat role as everything goes through Ronaldo. Exactly the situation Rooney had when Ronaldo was at Utd. When Kaka was at Milan he was the main man and all the play went through him thus showing his full array of talent, at Madrid im not suprised he hasn't stood out with all the 'stars' they have. Not all of them can play at their very best all the time.

definitely united, he hasn't been as good since being surrounded by other huge signings, he seems suffocated in the system

How can anyone say he was better at Utd?

He's only been at Madrid for half a season, and if I'm not mistaken has scored 17 in 17 appearances.

This is my opinion...
Ronaldo is just as good at Madrid as he was at united. The only difference is, is that it looks like he's gone back to how he played when he was younger. Selfish and only playing for himself. The last couple of times i've watched him (against Barca and then Almeria) it's almost as if he has a point to prove as he seems to try to do everything himself, much like most of the madrid team atm. This is why Messi & Barcelona dominated Madrid because Madrid don't play as a team just yet.

I think hes neither better nor worse, hes still scoring with alarming consistency, still producing unreal skill, still producing the kinds of performances that drive his entire team through 90 mins.

However, the increased media intrusion at Madrid has affected his game in that he concentrates on his football less at times and his discipline comes into question as he has picked up more than one suspension this season. I think ultimately he was better off at United as Ferguson deliberately shields his star players from the kind of interrupting media exposure he now recieves at Real. But, to be honest, its difficult for any player to turn down the kind of glitz and glamou that Real offer to prospective signings.

I agree. He's just as good but at Madrid he plays as a striker alongside Higuain so a direct comparison is unfair. But I honestly believe he will be back at Utd someday (and I will happily collect him at Manchester airport and drive him to OT myself :D)

hes the same, the difference is that he doesnt have two unselfish workhorse in rooney and tevez doing the graft for him now

Hes better because hes playing with a better standard of player.

At Man United he was a individual in a collective team of players , at real he's just an individual in a group of individuals , so I don't think he will stand out as much. Although from what I have seen at real he's been not bad , not superb he will score goals wherever he is that's just a fact , but I just don't see the same drive he had at Man United although I have not really seen many games of him as I find Spanish football very boring. Just my opinion.
