Well I just started playing FM09 As my friend gave it to me yesterday, although I did play the demo for some time. I do find it a bit exciting playing with Manchester United, but what do you guys reccomend playing with a higher or lower team? Also, should I do a few seasons with United THEN go to a lower team so I get the hang of things or what?
Sorry guys if this is in the wrong place, although I think it is the right place.

It really depends ...

It can be very frustating to begin with a big club and fail do get the results expected.

But it can also be very frustating to begin with a small club and have a bad squad.

I, myself, prefer to begin with a second division team.

i aways start with my favourite team then work my way around other clubs such as LLM or internationals like wilsonrtf said it can be frustrating not getting the results with the big clubs or sick of low quality players for smaller clubs

So do you guys reccomend me staying with United for a season or two then resign and go to another club?

If you want a challenge, try lower teams,if not then play with MAN UTD and be the best :D

Just play who you feel like playing mate. I personally start with a mid-table club, someone who I know are going to lose against the big teams and who I know can beat the smaller teams, so I give myself a challenge and get a fair bit of fun out of it as well because I can buy fairly big names as well.

Well, a mid-term solution would be to play the likes of Everton or Tottenham, for a more balanced experience. Or, maybe, squads from other countries, such as Villareal, HSV, Fiorentina, etc.

Yeah, because you should walk the league with a couple of good signings depending on what patch you are using.

Okay, I think I will finish this season with United, then if I resign, would like a mid-team maybe go for me or do I choose or what? Or do you guys say I just start a new game? I'm looking to be Aston Villa or Tottenham? Maybe At.Madrid?

You can apply, or you can be invited. Both happens. But I think it would be better to begin a new game.

Start a new game, you won't get a job at one of those clubs if you resign at Utd after just one season. Seeing as you're new to the game I'd say manage higher clubs but if you choose to manage a really lower side, the advantage is that their expectations will be very low so, really you can't do anything wrong and if you have any minor success, you're a hero.

Okay I'm on ther verge of creating a new game, start un-employed? How does that work? Could someone give there MSN I want to ask a few questions lol..

I get irritated easily if I don't know the players of a club. Therefore I always seem to stick with better clubs.

I personally don't mind not knowing the players so much.

Only time I get annoyed with a team, is when they have too many first-string players in their squad, and even more annoying when they also have 80 members too.

Palmeiras comes to mind.

To answer the initial topic: I tend to play my games around the middle tier, Coca Cola Leagues/Championship Level, however I am not adverse to LLM sometimes, as well as Premier League/La Liga football.

So shall I start off with a Chamionship team or a League 1 team?

Okay any reccomendations for a Championship side?

i start off at low clubs and work my way up because if you're man utd for example, you are at a team that has won everything so if you win again it isn't as special. It is more rewarding to start lower club and work higher

I decided to start of unemployed, Blackburn,Charlton,Norway have offered but I don't want to go to any. I want a Championship,League one side to offer.

Why didn't you just choose championship as league and random the team? Or League One
