I'm new to the game...currently just started my first season and I'm approaching the start of the Premier League play with Fulham. Did anybody find it overwhelming when they first started playing? There's so much to do, so much customizing. Do reserves/u-18's automatically get managed? I'd rather a computer take care of the whole loans process. Plus, I find the menus to be a bit sloppy - for instance, it took me a while to figure out how to list someone for transfer. I'm pretty much going about this with a strategy to get board trust, so basically trying to accomplish also those goals.

But yeah, how long is this learning curve if you did find it overwhelming?

There are loads of loads of shortcuts, F-keys, right clicking etc. You'll figure them out as you go along, makes the game so much easier. Yes your coaches automatically manage your reserves and u-18, but yeah the more you play the easier it will get!

If you've ever played FIFA manager you will realise that there really isn't that much unnecessary **** in FM :P

Oh yeah and use the tutorial if you're struggling!

Make sure you play Eddie Johnson up front, he's a beast!

You are able to select what coach you want to coach your reserves and youth. Could even staff search for coaches who can get the best out of your youth team.

I cant really remember how long it took me as I went from CM to FM when they first came out but there wasn't as much in the game back then. Its been pretty much just adding stuff since so there really is no learning curve anymore.

The best thing to do though is just alot of right click. You want to do anything with any of your players just right click on their name from your team screen. You want to see your team then just click your teams name at the top of the screen. Same for basically everything, competitions, players, teams. You see them written anywhere on your screen and you can click it and instantly access them.

i only manage the reserves team and u18 to set then avaibalbe for either first team games ro Reserve games (for u18). only best players i select. i let the coaches do the tactics for them, and freindly matches making. my ***. man. does the friendly fixtures, so not a headache for me.

the only thing i control form the reserve and the u18 is the contracts. **** players go die in teh end of season. ;)

shom who my u18 manager has 3 for youngsters attributes . lol still first in u18s.

and JT is my resreves Coach ;)

If you struggle try and start with an easier team like United or Barca. It's not much of a challenge but they are good teams to learn the ropes with. When you get the hang of the game start trying to take on more challenging roles :)

I don't remember it being that way, though it took a while to establish a fairly consistent playing style which is something a little different.
