Is it possible to offload Messi before the first season begins?

So I've been trying to sell Messi to various teams (I added quite a few managers to attempt this as no club considers its viable even if I offer him to them for free!) before the commencement of the first season.

Not sure if anyone has ever succeeded in doing this. Is it possible?

I have tried my very best to **** him off, putting him into the u19 team, transfer listed (+not needed by the club) and loan listed him. I've been extremely rude to him during our 'clear-the-air' talks and his happiness is already at an abysmal level.

However, he wouldn't even enter negotiations with various clubs including FC Bayern, Manchester City, Monaco, PSG, and Real Madrid (this makes more sense of course). This doesn't make any sense really lol I'm sure he'd be tempted in real-life under such circumstances!
 
Messi's information page states that he would prefer not to play in England, Germany, Italy, Russia. He prefers to play for Barcelona and in Argentina. The only clubs that could afford to buy him are PSG and Monaco - but given that they've already blown so much on bringing players in, I doubt they'd be able to accomodate Messi's wages.

The important question is - why are you even attempting to sell Messi???
 
Just for fun ;). Wanna see how Barca would cope without him!

I added Managers in all of those teams above but the thing is, he wouldn't even enter into negotiations.

I reckon he wouldn't be as adverse to the idea of playing in those leagues in real life though. The FM team should really look into this again! Plus if Messi loves Barca so much he'd leave if he's deemed surplus to requirements I guess lol.

If it's just to see how Barca do without him then why not just change teams in the editor? Or change preferences as to which leagues he does/doesn't want to play in?
 
Use the free editor, set up a arranged transfer to one of them clubs. Very, very easy to do in the editor.
