Is Schurrle any good?

Hello there.

I'm managing HSV, nearly at the end of the first season. Should be able to rank between 2nd and 4th.

Leverkusen is selling his star player, Andre Schurrle, and I think I can get him for about 20 millions. Real Madrid is also following him.

Is he worth that price? I thim I'm going to use him as a lone Advanced Forward, since my tactic doesn't have inside forwards, but just pure wingers.

So what should I do? The only doubt that I have is about is role, because I know he's a great IF but I need an AF.

I think he would do ok as a winger, but I play him as an inside forward in a front 3 of Schurrle, Lewandowski and Reus. He cost me £30m but it was money well spent - he has outscored Lewandowski in the two seasons that I've had him. He drives me insane with his long shots though - try to train him to stop this.

£13m is a great deal if you can afford it, I have played him as my back up forward to Lewandowski and he has done fairly well as an advanced forward but he is better in his natural position.

I have also the chance to buy Eren Derdiyok for around the same price, who is a proper AF but also probably overall less good than Schurre. Who should I choose?

Schurrle is an odd player for me with Southampton, I play him as in IF on the left wing- has 3 star coach rating, not great avg rating but scores a lot of goals- has a knack of being in the right place to tuck in rebounds. Does ok as a centre AM set to IF as well. Def worth £13m- not a huge number of exceptional left wingers on FM13 imo.
