Issues with Euro Cup squad

Im running a save with Barnsley and as a result of winning the FA cup in my first season, I am taking part in the Euro Cup for my second season.

However!
According to the game, I need "at least 4 players trained by Barnsley for 3 years between 15th and 21st birthday". When i do autoselect to try and make sure i meet this, I only have 2 players, even when I bring my whole under 18 squad in to my first team

Help?!?!?

only select 23 players in the squad, I had to do the same in my Sunderland game when I won the league cup
