Today for some unknown reason my laptop won't let my itunes work( i tried everything) and i'm a moment away from putting my foot through the laptop.

To save me the hassle of getting a new laptop, all i need is an new media player that is the same as itunes, I.e all i need to do is be able to transfer my music from PC straight to Ipod, im not to bothered about any extras

Thanks Nelson

Edit I have an Ipod touch

so whats the actual problem with itunes? will it just not load?

You can't, Itunes is necessary for your Ipod. BUT if you have a Android, Iphone or another, get Sptofiy premium and, walla.
Or, Winamp, perhaps.

basically i had to reset my Ipod so i get that picture showing the Disc symbol and wire.
I connect my Ipod to my itunes, the i get a message(see print screen) i googled it i found what to do. You got to activate that device. i have and it tells me i have it activate yet that message always comes up. When i do click search it says input disc( i have no disc) then it says look on line for driver when i click that nothing comes up.
i have unistalled Itunes both i loaded up the newest version and an older version and still the same problem

Edit i used http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1567 for the problem

This is my problem might be better explained http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090923182110AAi1hsE

Hmm, I think it may an actual Ipod Touch problem, same thing happened to mine with an update, it's a well-known error, i had to take mine back

Winamp by a million miles

Its the best media player for your pc and it now lets you sync music to your ipod

Dunno if it allows for podcasts management yet though

Thank you people, I will use winamp for the time being, and i see if i can get Itunes to work at a later date.

Same thing happened to me. I think your iTunes isn't up to date, and your iPod is, meaning they can't work together sort of thing. Basically just update your iTunes if it isn't already up to date.

I have updated my Itunes its now the 9.2 version. My itunes works fine as in i can access all my songs and that, but when i plug in my Ipod i get that message(see above). I can't manually download that driver as it comes included when you automatically download Itunes.
I can find the driver it's in Admin tools services i activated it to run automatic as listed in the apple website. I'm slightly confused as when i get that error message i get to two options one is search my folders and internet for the driver, and the 2nd is insert a disc. I have 3 ipods from Nano up to Touch and never have had a disc with anyone that i brought.

I have tried running Winamp, i now found out that the media player is fine. Its just the fact my laptop (dell inspiron) can't find the driver needed for my lpod.

I have now found this(screenshot) however when i click install it says windows can't find driver.

Honestly mate, I've got no idea. I to have an iTouch. If it IS a problem with the hardware, and you still have the warranty for it, go to the Apple shop and you should get a new one for free while your there. I've done that 3 times now. Spent no longer than 20 mins in the Apple shop each time. Good luck!
