Welcome to my save, 'Job Centre Manager':

I have decided to start a new story on here after my first story didn't go too well, so, here is my new beginning for my Football Manager Story.

It's simple; I am starting off as an unemployed manager, with the experience of an international footballer and I will be aiming to make my way to the top of the footballing world, and continue on a long, successful career.

I am hoping to achieve Champions League glory with the team I shall be managing at the time by the 2020-21 season, that is my main goal... So let's see how it goes!

THE JOB HUNT IS OVER

After just a short week in the job hunt, Matthew Johnson - ex Premier League professional footballer - has been hired by Skrill North side Stockport County on a two year deal.

Matthew Johnson said in an interview;
'It is a privilege to be chosen by the Stockport board to be the man to lead them on in the current season, I am extremely pleased to be here and hope that my time here is successful and leads to great things for the club'

'We have set targets for the season and I have promised to achieve those targets'

We shall see in the coming months how Matthew Johnson takes on his first managerial role, and how successful he may be with Stockport County!

Thomas in action for Tamworth against Everton's Victor Anichebe

It's a new start for Stockport County under Matthew Johnson, and he has already made his first transfer for the club signing experienced winger Danny Thomas on a free transfer.

Thomas previously played for Tamworth before his contract expired, and Matthew Johnson wasted no time in bringing him into his new Stockport County team.

Matthew Johnson said this about the purchase of Danny Thomas -
'He (Thomas) is a great lad, I saw that as soon as I met him, he was so friendly, he will fit right in at the club and help us create a new era for Stockport County'

Does Thomas have enough quality to be in a top club in the Skrill North? Possibly not, however, he could be used for good experience to help the younger or less experienced players in the squad in big moments throughout the season.

Great transfer, or just one of a line of poor signings to come from Matthew Johnson?
Tell us what you think about this transfer for Stockport County!

Second Signing for Stockport!

Jackson in his time with Luton Town

Matthew Johnson has continued his work at Stockport County with the signature of Richard Jackson - previously at Luton & Derby - on a one year deal.

Jackson is Johnson's second signing in his first season as a manager having only been at the club for ten days. He seems eager to prove his tactical knowledge.

Jackson is sure to provide great experience for Stockport in the defence and will help to lead on the squad throughout the very long season.

Two signings for Johnson now, how successful will he be for Stockport County?
Will he take them through the division, or face the axe, have your say!

Triple Loan Signings for Stockport!

Matthew Johnson has added three new players to his Stockport side in a bid to get them into the Skrill Premier, but is going for loan players the right way to go about in the transfer dealings?

Their first new loanee signing is Chris Almond, who arrives from Southport on loan, his experience will bring good things for the Stockport side, which is something Matthew Johnson has aimed to do in his first two signings also.

The second of Johnson's loan signings is midfielder David Poole, on loan from Hyde, who will hopefully bring some creativity and spark to the Stockport side which is vital for a time aiming for the top end of the table.

The final of Johnson's loan signings is young defensive midfielder Matthew Waters, who joins from Middlesbrough for the season. He is sure to bring some youth and confidence to this Stockport side and will cause competition for the more experienced midfielders in the squad.

Pre-Season Review

The season is almost with us here at Stockport County and the pre-season has come and gone, so let's see how the team have done in their friendly matches.

Stockport County 0-1 Burnley U21's
-----------

Stockport County 0-0 Stockport County U21's
-----------

Stockport County 1-3 Ipswich Town
(Ian Craney 30')
------------

Stockport County 0-2 Leeds United U21's
------------

Stockport County 2-1 Kidderminster
(Kristian Dennis 38', Rhys Turner 80')
-----------

Not a great pre-season to be honest, however, promising signs as the side beat Kidderminster in their final pre-season goal, and scored a goal against Ipswich Town of the Championship. Hopefully the poor pre-season has no connection to the season ahead, and Stockport can have a successful season and move on through the division over time.
