There are times when the best thing to do is nothing at all. Chelsea's victory over Barcelona last week was a surprise. It brought much praise for Roberto Di Matteo and his tactical approach and much skepticism about Barcelona. Had pep Guardiola's side been found out? Had Chelsea discovered the key to frustrating it? Was this the beginning of the end of the Barcelona domination of European soccer?

I personally think that a 1-0 lead for Chelsea is possibly worse than being 1-0 down, in terms of tactics. It will be extremely hard for them to choose the correct tactic - if they defend, but they concede early (fairly likely), then they are doomed. However, if they attack and concede (extremely likely), then they are doomed as well.

They have everything to lose and I am backing Barcelona to dominate the game right from the off and win 2-0. They should be brilliant at the Nou Camp, although I don't know how their weekend loss to Real Madrid (and basically losing the Liga BBVA title) will affect them.
