With the extremely sad news, that Steven Gerrard, the Liverpool legend will leave the club this summer. I thought why not do a story on the boy they're calling the next Steven Gerrard. Jordan Rossiter, the lad has a bright future ahead of him but let's see if he can fulfil his potential. Can he fill the boots of his idol Steven Gerrard and become a club legend at Liverpool?

View attachment 314746
Look at that, they even look similar, well at least their haircuts. I want to keep things as realistic as possible but I felt a few minor changes in the editor were needed. Gerrard will leave at the end of his contract and Rossiter will stay loyal to Liverpool to try and replace his idol.

View attachment 314747
Unfortunately despite me editing the database so that Gerrard would leave on a free, in the summer, Liverpool still managed to convince him to stick around, signing a one year contract extension. We can only hope, he decides to change his mind in real life as well. Elsewhere, surprisingly Ribery won the Ballon d'Or and another shock was John Stones winning European Golden Boy.

Next time we'll round up Liverpool's season which could end with some silverware, we'll see who won what this season, how did Liverpool fare in the transfer market? Then there's a look at Jordan Rossiters first season at the Reds.

Not much going on in the January transfer window for Liverpool, players going out on loan and experienced centre back Luisao comes in from Benfica and in the Premier League there wasn't much going on either, Phil Jones swapped United for rivals Chelsea and Higuain arrived at Arsenal for a small fee, when you consider what he can do.

More shocking news this season as Championship side Cardiff win the Capital One Cup against the odds, beating Chelsea in the final. Finally Jordan Rossiter has made his long awaited debut, coming on as a sub in Liverpool's 5-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday. He didn't have long to make an impact but hopefully he can push on for more games this season.

Overall it was a solid first season for Liverpool, not much to shout about in the COC but a good finish in the league qualifying for the Champions League in 3rd place. In the Champions League, the Reds had a great run reaching the Quarter Finals, eventually getting knocked out by Man City as for the FA Cup. Unfortunately they got all the way to the Final only to be knocked out by derby rivals Everton. Elsewhere, Man City won the Premier League and Chelsea won the Champions League.

Some very surprising top performers this season, from Balotelli banging in the goals to Flanagan providing the ammunition with the most assists and best average rating. Sturridge enjoyed a solid season and made the Barclays Team of the Season, along with Balotelli. However it was a bad season for the likes of Gerrard, Sterling, Lucas and Enrique.

I forgot to take a screenshot right at the start of the game, so a few of Jordan's starting attributes are a bit off, It kind of seems like most of them are set and the odd attribute is randomly generated, I'm not quite sure how it works. Anyway in terms of development he's progressed really well over the last season, it's just a shame he didn't get more game time but his time will come.

Next season he's off to play in the Championship, on loan for Blackpool, he'll be a first team player, so he'll see plenty of game time there and hopefully he'll progress even more. Find out how he gets on and how things turn out back at Liverpool in the next update.

Love the idea, will be interesting to see if he makes it,
I dont think there will ever be another steven gerrard, players these days arent loyal enough, and you dont get very many local lads comibg through at the big clubs,

This looks good so far! It's a shame really, that on FM 15 Jordan isn't nearly as good as he was on FM 14 stats and potential wise, which is strange as he made his club debut and scored before FM 15. Hope that he does well for you on this story though!

Thanks lads, I really hope he does make it or this story won't last long. I put his loyalty up to 20 so hopefully he'll keep on at Brendan until he gets enough chances to cement his first team place, can't wait to see his progress!

Plenty of money spent by Liverpool this season, with Jackson Martinez coming in for a lot of money, £26M. Illarremendi could been a very shrud move at just £13.5M and Markus Henriksen for £6.75M looks like a good bit of business as well. In the Premier League, Liverpool weren't the only team spending big money, Chelsea spent big on Carlos Vela and United coughed up a huge £46.5M for Falcao.

At the turn of the new year the winner of the Ballon d'Or was announced, Carlos Tevez was a shock to me, while City's Kovacic won the European Golden Boy. Everton managed to get the better of Chelsea to lift their second trophy in as many years, when they were crowned COC winners.

Another good league campaign for the reds, mounting a solid title challenge but losing out to Chelsea in the end. In the cups though, it really was a poor season, a last 16 place in the Champions League isn't to bad but a club like Liverpool should be doing better. Sunderland got their hands on the FA Cup and Bayern claimed the Champions League.

Flanagan continued his work, putting in another excellent season, Martinez wasn't phased by the big money move, as he scored bags of goals and these two made the Barclays Team of the Season. Illarramendi proved to be a steal after those performances and Henderson has to get a mention as well.

The Managerial Merry Go-Round was out in full force this summer, first off at the end of the season, Wenger stepped down at Arsenal and they bought in Leonid Slutskiy. United parted with Louis Van Gaal and I was surprised to see them hire another Dutchman, in Frank De Boer. There's more manager changes to come but I don't want to spoil anything from the Euros.

We're two seasons in and while the story is more about Jordan Rossiter not Steven Gerrard, he's hardly had a mention. Why, well because he's been really poor over these two seasons, he's hardly played in this last season and unfortunately he's decided to hang up his boots and retire. His staff attributes aren't to bad, so many we'll see some more of him in the future, I'll keep you posted.

What about Jordan, well he played plenty of football over the last season but I think he can be a little disappointed by his consistency, his average rating wasn't great but he did chip in with a couple of assists. I wasn't that impressed with his attribute progress either, he did make some strides but he definitely needs to do better, there is a bit of good news, as it look likes he's starting to come in to the England under 21 setup now.

Next time we'll see what England and the Liverpool lads can do at Euro 2016 in France and we'll see how the Euros had a huge impact on a few PL managers. There's big news at Liverpool, a massive shock and the future of Jordan Rossiter, Will he stay at Liverpool or go on loan for another season?

We'll start with the big shocker, Liverpool's brightest talent, Raheem Sterling left them for the money at City, Liverpool offered him a new deal but he wanted more and City gave him it, personally I'm really disappointed but the story goes on. On the upside, Liverpool did complete the redevelopment of Anfield and revenue will increase significantly over the coming seasons.

Moving on to the Euros now and England won it, I couldn't beleive it, if only we could win tournaments in real life, incredibly Wales reached the final as well. On the Liverpool front, Flanagan, Sturridge, Henderson lifted the trophy with England, while Flanagan also made the Dream Team along with Balotelli and Allen.

Mourinho decided to go out on a high, after winning the League with Chelsea, he made a move to Germany, when Joachim got the sack, after a poor tournament for him. Diego Simeone comes in to replace Jose Mourinho at Chelsea. Incredibly Roy Hodgson went out on an even bigger high, after winning the Euros, Roberto Martinez moved on from Everton, to manage the England team, his replacement at Everton was Martin Jol.

With a new England manager in charge, Jordan Rossiter will be looking to impress him over the coming season but that'll be difficult, this season he'll play for Bolton, recently promoted to the Premier League. We'll find out how his season turns out next time, hopefully it's better for him and for the other lads back at Liverpool.

View attachment 314042View attachment 314041
Sterling was the big transfer news this summer, leaving for City but there wasn't many high profile players coming in at Liverpool but lots of players came in, so there's now lots of depth at the club. Plenty of moves elsewhere in the Premier League but not many big money moves.

Unfortunately Rossiter picked up an injury in October, keeping him out for three months, which was frustrating because he played really well up until then, hopefully he won't pick up any more long term injuries in his career. Meanwhile Spurs were done with their manager Mauricio Pochettino, they replaced him with Cesare Prandelli.

Things looked a bit more predictable when Lionel Messi was back to claim yet another Ballon d'Or, I'm not sure how though, Tevez had almost double the amount of goals and assists. Ruben Neves of F.C Porto won the European Golden Boy this year. The second half of the season were full of ups and downs for Brendan Rodgers, he was so close to the sack but saved himself by winning the COC, his first ever trophy.

A poor season for Liverpool in the league, finishing in fifth place, out of the Champions League places, incredibly City won the league with just 74 points. Another last 16 finish in the Champions League but the reds have to be disappointed with being knocking out by A.C Milan, A poor run in the FA Cup, getting knocked out in the first round by Southampton but they were great in the COC, winning the trophy, the first trophy Liverpool have won in this story.

A bad season for Brendan Rodgers only got worse when he got the sack right at the end of the season, I guess it was failing to qualify for the Champions League that cost him his job. Ex Chelsea boss Andre Villas Boas takes over, I almost rage quit but let's give him a chance. United won the FA Cup, beating QPR 3-0 in the final, meanwhile Juventus beat Bayern on penalties to lift the Champions League.

Some top performers for Liverpool this season, with Martinez still scoring loads, Illarramendi and Henderson both enjoyed top seasons, Flanagan again had the best average ratings. Coutinho won PFA Young Player of the Year, while also making the Barclays Team of the Season, along with Martinez and Flanagan.

Unfortunately Jordan missed almost half the season through injury but he still enjoyed a decent loan with Bolton, he couldn't stop them from being relegated to the Championship though. As for his attribute progress, well it looks like that injury really hampered his progress, hopefully he'll progress more next season.

Big season coming up for Jordan next time, at 20 years old he really needs to start showing what he can do, he hasn't done a lot so far and when you consider what Gerrard had acheived by the time he was 20, he really is slacking, lets hope he can pick it up in the next update though.

A new manager and you'd hope he'd be given plenty of money to spend but that wasn't the case, in fact Liverpool made a profit on transfers this season and only spent £8M. Nobody of note coming in but, Liverpool named Lovren captain when Gerrard retired but for some insane reason, they sold him back to Southampton for just £4M! Jon Flanagan is named the next Liverpool captain. Other Transfers in the Premier League included Lukaku joining Man City and Martin Odegaard transferring to United for £28M.

Is the lad becoming injury prone? Just before the start of the season in August. he's picked up another long term injury, again putting him out for 3 months, just before the start of the season in August. I imagine he would've gone out for another season on loan, as I don't think he's ready for the Liverpool first team just yet. Vidal wins the Ballon d'Or this year, while Merino tells us that the regens are coming, by winning European Golden Boy, here's a screenshot. Southampton won the COC, beating Wigan on penalties in the final.

Another bad league campaign for Liverpool, finishing in fifth place, failing to qualify for the Champions League for the second season running. In the cup competitions, well the less said about the COC and the FA Cup the better but in the Europa League, Liverpool had a fantastic run getting all the way to the final, with a Champions League place at stake, the game was huge, unfortunately Liverpool lost the game on penalties though, I wanted to throw the laptop.

It wasn't a great season for Liverpool but Illarramendi, stormed the charts yet again, running away with the best average rating, more solid seasons from Henderson and Flanagan, with lots of poor performers in the side. Just the one Liverpool player in the Barclays Team of the Season, Illarramendi made the team but he can't make the Spain team, they must be crazy.

With Rossiters contract up, it was decision time, AVB handed him a one year deal at Anfield, Derby, Stoke and QPR were interested. It really is make or break now, he's been out of the Under 21 England set-up for almost two years, he didn't make a single first team appearance last season. His attribute progress definitely suffered as a result and that injury didn't help. At 21 Years old he still has plenty of time left in his career but he's no longer an up and coming talent, he needs to show people what he can do now, the stage is set.

The World Cup had a surprise winner in Belgium and England continued their success, with progress to the Semi Finals, losing out to France. In the Dream Team, unfortunately there was no Liverpool players but John Stones, Luke Shaw, Gary Cahill and Wayne Rooney all made the team for England.

Another redevelopment makes the ground even bigger, not a massive increase in capacity but still good news, Anfield now holds 58k. After a two year break from football, Gerrard is back and starts his coaching career at Premier League side Norwich. Finally the big news is that a week before pre season, Bayern approached the Liverpool manager AVB and he left for the bigger platform, the Reds hired Cesare Prandelli to lead them forward, meanwhile Spurs needed a new manager, they signed Phillip Cocu.

Liverpool spent more money this year but they didn't exactly splash the cash, Jedvaj, was the most expensive, costing just under £17M, there was some big names leaving as well, Lucas and Johnson both left on free transfers. In the Premier League, City spent big on Ruben Neves and Strootman, while Chelsea coughed up £35.5M for Zivkovic.

Hazard won the Ballon d'Or this year and Islam Abakarov was the second regen to win European Golden Boy. Chelsea won the Capital One Cup, with Man City missing out. Everton were having a shocker of a season and they'd had enough of Martin Jol, Nigel Adkins gets a big break.

A solid league campaign from the reds, they managed to get back in to the Champions League, which is great news. The lads were really poor in Europe, getting knocked out by Besiktas in the last 32 of the Europa League. They reached the Quarter Finals of the COC but they managed to have a fantastic run in the FA Cup, winning the trophy by beating rivals Man United in the final. Elsewhere Real Madrid beat Chelsea to lift the Champions League.

Illarramendi and Henderson are quite the pairing in central midfield and they were by far the best players at Liverpool this season, Martinez also had another good season in the goal scoring department. He also made the Barclays Team of the Season, along with Suso.

Jordan had another poor season, his progress was again really poor and he struggled for game time at Liverpool, only making a handful of appereances. With his contract up I was doubtful that the Reds would renew it, I wasn't even sure whether to keep the story going, the idea was to make him a Liverpool legend but now he's leaving the club and he really hasn't progressed how I would've liked.

I think OlliLFC said it right, It really is a shame, he's not as good as he was in FM14, here's a screenshot from last year, after just four seasons under my management, on my Liverpool story, he was turning in to an absolute beast, I should of kept going. I'm going to keep the story going for at least another year or two, see how he deveolps at Championship side Millwall, he should get tons of game time and hopefully his attrbutes will get better.

View attachment 313755

View attachment 313747
Unfortunately the Championship won't get added until after the upcoming season, so there probably won't be much news about Millwall in the next update but we can still talk about Jordan Rossiter, find out how he does next time.

Yeah its unfortunate for him but maybe if you tried this over again but you actually managed Liverpool, you may bring the best outta him

Yeah its unfortunate for him but maybe if you tried this over again but you actually managed Liverpool, you may bring the best outta him

Ye, I thought about that but it takes a lot longer to manage a team than just simulate seasons. I may do a Liverpool story in the future.

View attachment 313674View attachment 313673
Three seasons later and Rossiter spent those three years fighting relegation with Championship side Millwall. His performances even in the Championship weren't all that, I'm so disappointed. It's fair to say then that Jordan didn't fulfil his potential and become anywhere near the player Steven Gerrard was,. Speaking of Stevie, for those curious, he stayed on as a coach at Norwich, helping them sustain their place in the Premier League and consistently finishing top 10.

View attachment 313671

It's so frustrating because, I think he's got a big future ahead of him and it's just not reflected in FM. Having said that the screenshot from FM14, after four seasons, was with human management and we all know you can't trust the CPU to develop anyone, it's much easier to develop players when you're actually managing them.

View attachment 313672

Anyway unfortunately that's the end of the story guys, bit of a fail really but there's not a lot I could've done. Just wondered what you guys thought about the idea of doing another player story in the future. I'd probably do one with a more high profile player like Pogba, Tielemans or Januzaj, I like the idea, it's just a bit annoying how players don't develop very well under CPU management. I'll have a new story coming out later today that should be a good laugh and my Swansea story will continue, in fact I'll have an update out for that in the next hour.

Why don't you do a story based on Martin Odegaard? Plays at 15 for his team then gets signed by bigger clubs and I'm sure he'll represent Denmark at some point too. Great idea for a story though. Good luck with whatever you choose. ??????

This was great, shame he didn't make it! I'd love to see another of these done, you're updates were really well done.

Pogba is a bit of a big name to do one of these for as his potential is pretty much maxed. I'll try and think of some players you could do another on :)

As Andy said, maybe try Odegaard. Or

Hachim Mastour, first time on an FM game, signed at 15 for AC Milan and at 500k euros became the most expensive youth transfer ever. He is now 16 and has played 3 games for the first team and had a brilliant assist in one of them. Could he become the next Kaka for Milan?
