Jupiler League Promotion

So after 6 games in the Jupiler League (holland 2nd division) Willem II already secured promotion with 32 games to play... I looked at the league rules and googled the promotion rules but can't figure it out. Can anyone help me out with the promotion rules for the Jupiler League?

Maybe check their history/trophy list and maybe there is an automatic promotion for winning a cup or something? Not sure. Pictures?

I think it's because at the end of every period (fall, winter, spring for example) the team who got most points in that period gets a place in the play-offs. Only the team who ends as champions in the league will get immediate promotion though.
