Since FM 2008 I have stuck to a rigid 4-4-2 diamond... This basic system has been devastating and reliable for the last 4 years and had brought me many trophies...
I would operate with 2 wide men with the AM at the head of the spear i.e. fabregas... Have 2 CF's with one as a support but still adjacent to his partner...
However, this edition is different... It has shown me a new light and just like my beloved arsenal...
I now deploy a 4-5-1 (4-1-2-2-1) tactic which, in 4 seasons, has been so successful...
It offers much more flexibility and allows variations in attacks as well as staying unified in defence... I have been able to switch players around during a game which I NEVER did in previous editions... (H)
As reliable as the diamond was, it never allowed me the freedom I craved and was pretty rigid... Now with the 2 IF's, there is no lack of support for the CF and they track back which is a joy to behold...
I do appreciate players who use it, but after so many years...
IT IS TIME TO LET IT GO!!! :'(
