I have been toying with the idea of doing my first story for some time- so bare with me if it isn't great to start with. I'm sure i'll pick it up as I go along.

After thinking for some time I thought it would be fun to complete a takeover story. So I shall be completing a save with Sheffied Wednesday and looking at their progress after a multi-billionaire takes over.

My aim for this save are as follows:
Year 1- Promotion to Prem
Year 2- Secure a safe position in the premier leaague
Year 3- Looking for a middle to lower league finish in Prem
Year 4- At this point looking to push towards the Europa League spots
Year 5- As long as Europe has been secured I will be looking to try and break in to the top 5 at least

My aim is to try and sign some young players for the future- whether I decide to sign the classic 'wonderkids' i'm not sure yet.
Anyway hope you enjoy. Please give feedback as much as you like

Sounds good mate, I am just starting to make my first proper attempt at a story.. although mine is the complete opposite.. Man city lose there billions! I will be following!

New owner at Wednesday

Milan Mandaric has willingly sold his ownership of Sheffield Wednesday to businessman Mark Zuckerberg, famous for founding social media Facebook. It is understood that Zuckerberg has been interest in investing in a ‘soccer’ team in England. Zuckerberg rumoured to be worth around £22 billion. Sky Sports Jim White has been granted an exclusive interview with the new` Wednesday owner.
White: Good morning Mark
Zuckerberg: Morning
JW: first may I congratulate you on your acquisition of Sheffield Wednesday. My first question is why Wednesday?
MZ: I have always been a fan of soccer, sorry I suppose I should say football now. Therefore I have been recently looking to acquire a team with the potential to become champions of the world. Having observed the history of Wednesday it only made sense for me to purchase the club with such a formidable history.
JW: Interesting. Have you any immediate plans for the future regarding the backroom staff?
MW: Yes. I am indeed looking to change things up in the backroom staff. Recently the club have struggled to show extended periods of form. Having already spoke to Head Coach Stuart Grey he understands the situation and is willing to mutually terminate his contract.
JW: And who do you intend to replace him with?
MZ: At the moment I have no plans. I shall be speaking to my contacts in England to determine who would be best to succeed. But before you ask, yes, they will receive the full backing with my finances when required.
JW: Thank you very much for your time. I look forward to hearing more from you in the near future.
MZ: Thanks.

New manager at Wednesday

View attachment 307676
Sheffield Wednesday have unveiled Alan Shearer as their new manager today. Shearer joins after several years playing experience. Shearer is most famous for scoring 260 premier league goals and holding the current record for premier league all time goalscorer. Although for most Wednesday fans he will be remembered for scoring five goals in an 8-0 win against Newcastle.
Shearer’s only managerial experience was a brief spell at Newcastle where he couldn’t save them from relegation from the premier league. It is understood that he has now left his most recent job as a pundit on BBC’s Match of the Day.
We now go live to the press conference where Mark Zuckerberg is to unveil Shearer
MZ: Good morning ladies and gentleman. Today is a great day for Sheffield Wednesday. I have the privellage on welcoming the new manager for the Owls- Alan Shearer.
AS: Thank you mark. Good morning, first of all may I say thank you to Mark who has granted me this opportunity to work at such a fantastic club. I now open the floor to questions.
Sky sports: Good morning Alan. First of all, what made you choose this job?
AS: I have always had an interest in Sheffield Wednesday. They are a club with great history. But it also provides me with another bite of the apple in the managerial world.
BBC: Alan, why here though. With rumours that Pardew could be leaving Newcastle would you not have waited for that job?
AS: I believe that was never a possibility. Alan has done a good job with Newcastle and needs the time to complete his job. So no, I don’t believe that would every have been an option.
The times: Alan, with the club having been recently taken over, what is your tactic in the transfer market?
AS: I will aim to sign some young players for the future first. But I won’t be afraid to spend big if required. Mark has generously put the money in to the club and if that means I need to spend money then I will.
Sky sports: What is the aim for the Owls this year?
AS: Well we’re predicted 2nd but I believe we can push for the title. It is important now the club has the financial backing that we make it to the premier league at the first attempt. From there we can push on and hopefully start to make ourselves a force to be reckoned with in future year.
MZ: Thank you for your questions. As I’m sure you understand, Alan wants to be involved sooner rather than later and pre-season preparation is calling.

New changes in the back

Alan Shearer has started his reign at Sheffield Wednesday by hiring a host of new staff. With only two members of the old backroom staff staying it has clearly been frantic work for Shearer to hire his new backroom staff. The new additions have included:
Rene Mulensteen
Alan Curbishley
Steve Harrison
Josh pearcey
Richard Naylor
Damien Roden
Alan Kernaghan
John Harbin
Adolfo Sormani

Shearer has expressed his delight in signing such a storng backroom and is sure they will help develop and already young sheffield wednesday squad

Thanks. I saw you start this earlier actually. Haven't got managed to reading much of it yet but sounds really interesting. Will keep an eye out for updates on it

New faces in Sheffield

Alan Shearer has finalised his first signing at Sheffield Wednesday with Federico Bonazzoli joining from Inter Milan for £1 million. This signals Shearer’s first foray in to the transfer market and will no doubt be his last.
Bonazolli is expected to feature heavily in his first season at Sheffield. He has been quoted as saying he is ‘delighted to be at a club where the youth facilities are superb and will help nurture my development’View attachment 307664

Record Smashed
View attachment 756142Wonderkid Patrick Roberts has signed from Fulham. The fee is believed to be around the £10.5 million mark. It is predicted the 17 year old will be used as a first team regular throughout the season. Shearer is thought to be a huge admirer of Roberts' talent since he burst on to the scene in last years youth FA cup

Splash the Cash

Dele Alli Signs
Alli has put pen to paper on a 4 year deal. His transfer from MK Dons is rumoured to be just over £3 milion. He is expected to be competing for places in the CM position. Having already captained the England U19s there is a lot of expectations on the young lad.

Dutch International SignsView attachment 307481
Jasper Cillisen has become Shearer’s latest addition at Sheffield Wednesday. He has signed for £7 million. Shearer has stated that he was surprised that Cillissen became available but the second he knew he was interested in signing there was no looking back.

Splash the cash
Alan Shearer has yet again splashed the cash. This time on Derby youngster Will Hughes. Everyone is aware of the immense quality that Hughes brings and no doubt he will be expected to lift them in to the prem. Hughes signs from Derby for around the £10 million mark. But it is believed that it could rise to £12 million depending on promotion
From Canaries to Owls
Sheff Wed have completed the signing of two Norwich players this week. Josh Murphy and Nathan Redmond have signed for a combined total of over £20 million. This takes Shearer’s spending well in excess of £50 million. However, reports from the Wednesday camp suggest Shearer has almost achieved the team he wishes to play with for years to come. Kane drops a league
In a surprise move, Tottenham striker Harry Kane has dropped to championship side Sheffield Wednesday for 12.5 million. Kane believed that he would gain more experience in the long term being one of three key strikers at Sheffield Wednesday. Shearer says he is a huge admirer of the goals Kane scored for Spurs in the Europa League last year

Byram Betrayal?
Sam Byram has left Leeds for Sheffield in what could be described as a controversial move. The move has cost the Owls £8 million but shows Shearer’s increased managerial knowledge by strengthening his back lineView attachment 307474

Annoyingly I have found that an edited player I once had has found his way in to the game. I guess I must have accidently uploaded his database as well. Therefore I have signed Mirza Sedjic who I created in to a fast developing wonderkid. I thought I would update you on this to avoid confusion why he is doing so well during the season. I would normally re-create the game but i've already put quite a bit of work in and can't be bothered to reset it

Transfer Summary

Transfers Explained

Obviously with the money I had to spend there were going to be some big signings and in order to challenge for the championship I was going to have to vastly improve the whole team. Therefore I immediately looked to improve the midfield which is important for me as I like to play with good levels of possession and high tempo football. Therefore the obvious signings of Hughes and Alli were immediate starting points. I have also played another save where I am in 2023 and Bigrimana has become quality for Newcaslte and England so thought I would get him in. The obvious idea was to try and buy in young players who can stay for a long time at the club. I then signed Romero, a player I have never signed before but only heard good things about. Out wide I brought in Norwich duo of Redmond and Murphy. Again two young wingers I can hopefully keep hold on. Hopefully they’ll fill their potential and be world class. As for Grealish he was a good loan signing for cover but is pushing for first team. Up front I brought Bonazzoli because in 2023 he is banging in goals in the Prem. He has been loaned out due to me usually playing one up front and Maguire and May providing good rotation options. Kane I thought would be a good signing and is home grown which will be useful. Cillissen is a solid keeper and Byram provides good depth at the back if I play 4. Blacket will hopefully turn in to a good defender and has a future fee of £2.8 million in his loan deal.

August Results

Brighton 0-2 Sheffield Wednesday (Sedjick 63, 81)
Took a long time for the team to settle in t a rhythym here. Game was never in doubt but a double for Sedjick made sure of the 3 points in Shearer’s first game in charge. The only downside being Roberts pulling a hamstring and will be out for 5 weeks.
Carlisle 0-1 Sheffield Wednesday (Maguire, 62)- Capital One Cup
A chance for fringe players to play with 8 changes in the squad including a formation change. Injury for Byram meant a quick shuffle which resulted in Maguire being pushed forward to score his first goal. Highlighting his desire to stay at Hilsborough.
Sheffiled Wednesday 4-1 Derby (Bigrimana 6, Sedjick 54, Grealish, 67, 76)
Comfortbale game for the first home game of the season. Bigrimana scores on his debut with a fantastic strike from the edge of the area. Sedjick then scored an easy close range finsih with Grealish making an impression after his Cup performance with a brace. Grealish is challenging Murphy for the AML spot. Hughes played the whole game against his old club putting in a solid performance.
Sheffield Wednesday 1-4 Millwall (Beevers o.g)
Don’t really know what happened here. Changed the formation to a 3-1-2-2-2. Safe to say it didn’t work. The team didn’t play well together which isn’t surprising being that they are are all new to the squad. Suppose the problem is inexpereince throughout the team so whether I need to purchase some expereince. I will probably give it to January to see.
Middlesborough 0-2 Sheffiled Wednesday (Sedjic, 27, 45)
After a strong start from Wednesday we finally found the back of the net via Sedjic. A corner wasn’t cleared and found him on the edge of the box to stroke home. Sedjic doubled his tally late on in the second half after a greath through ball he managed to strike home before the keeper was set.
Sheffield Wedneday – Wigan (Maquire, 6, Murphy 34, May 51) (Capital One cup round 2)
Again lots of changes for the cup game. 10 different players in with just Byram retaining his spot. Chris Maguire is starting to make a name for himself in the cup. As he scores early on from just insdie the area. The lead didn’t last long as Wigan hit back straight away. Josh Murphy puts the |Owls back in front after Maguire’s shot is saved straight in to his path. Wigan once more level straight after the second half with Waghorn scoring a close range header. Suspicions of Offside there but not given. 3-2. Murphy becomes the provider this time as he slops in Stevie May who finishes smartly. Yet another deep ball becomes Sheffield Wednesdays undoing as Huws sends a long ball in and Riera climbs highest to head home. 3-3. Penalty to Wigan. Lees dives in and claters Maloney. Maloney steps up and sends Westwood the wrong way. Late pressure for Wednesday but they can’t find the back of the net as Grealish’s shot is saved in the dying moments.
Sheffield Wednesday 2-2 Nottingham Forrest (Kane 17, Looven 63)
First goal for Harry Kane as he burys it from jus toutside the six yard box. Forrest hit back with a good header but just moments later captain Loovens squeezes the ball home from a corner. Unfortunately we couldn’t hold the lead and forrest equalised with 10 minutes to go.

All in all not a bad month of results. A poor defeat against Millwall and probably should have won the Forrest game but not too fussed. Currently sitting 3rd in the league which considering the team still need to gel I’m not too fussed about. As for the Capital One Cup I don’t care about. The board have stated they weren’t worried about it so to go out doesn’t worry me. Also to have less matches will only help with the schedule.

A good win here. Two goals for Sedjic and an easy tap in for our reserve CB. Possession was a bit of a disappointment but probably because Hughes was rested
View attachment 306707
This game was a great one for the neutrals. We came up against an inspired Lee Novak who scored some good goals. Harry Kane's equaliser was unbelievable Jeff. Scoring a great volley from 20 yards out
View attachment 306688
Another good win. Should have been more. Kane hit the post twice. Scored another decent finish from the edge of the box. We almost let it slip towards the end
View attachment 306686
We played well today. Could have been a lot better but Cardiff were strong all over today. We seem to be struggling at the back some what. Does anyone have any ideas? Not sure if formations I'm playing work. Switching between 3-1-2-2(wingers)-1 or 4-1-2-2 (wingers)-1
View attachment 306685
Another solid win here. Good possession and some good finishing for the two goals today.

Good solid win here. Whole team played well. Some decent finishes all round
View attachment 306066
Tight game here. We had the chances just couldn't finish. Sedjic has a pretty poor game. Hughes scored a good goal and the winner came from a decent cross
View attachment 306058
Don't really know what happened here. We were okay but for some reason couldn't score at all and were outdone by them. Cilissen doesn't seem to be doing too well at the moment. Might look at bringing in Westwood for a couple of games to add competition
View attachment 306055
Dreadful. Absolutely dreadful. Possession but nothing to show for it. That's now two games when we have lost when we could have been top of the league.
View attachment 306053
Second spot but could be top with some points ahead if it wasn't for sloppy play. Good to see Wednesday players in the top of the player stats

Valdez has been offered a trial and has been recommended as far better than Cilessen. Will look in a months time as he is still injured at the moment and may not be worth the wages

There is something majorly wrong with the team at the moment. I will be arranging a team meeting and finding out what the **** is going on. Three loses in a row and lucky other teams around us are losing
View attachment 760001
The rot has stopped. Still wasn't good but better than losing. Millwall also won which means we stay 2nd
View attachment 760013
Great 3-0 win. Dominated the game. Great day for Patrick Roberts
View attachment 760066
Absolutely huge win as it puts us top of the table after Millwall lost to Charlton 4-2. Was quite nervous until Roberts scored an open goal after fantastic cross from Helen.

In other news Bonazzolli has extended his loan. He's only made three apearences and has more red cards than goals (one red). Little disappointed at the moment. Only playing one up front so will keep him there until January at least when I may change the tactics a little to give him opportunities at a higher level

View attachment 305799
Worst first half ever. Best second half. We were 3-0 down at half time and hadn't troubled Wigan. Gave the team a harsh team talk and change of formation for 2 up top and all of a sudden we were superior. Unlucky to lose after the second half. But football is a game of two halves
