Having played FM way back from the CM96/97 version and spending 100's of hours each year for the last 17 years for some reason I just cant get into this years addition. People may remember my guide on lower league management back in FM12 where I took Blyth to world domination over a 31 year stint. This year ive tried lower league, mid table and the like of City/Madrid type saves but Ive never getting past November. I haven't even completed a season. Usually ive rattled off a good 10 seasons in the 1st 3 weeks or so. I love football manager, most of my past time has been taken up by FM over the years.

Is anyone else struggling to stay interested? or mayb best question could be, what motivates u to continue a save or what to do to get into FM14

Cheers in advance.

What has motivated me the past years is an escape from reality, and to take Liverpool back where they belong...

I usually grow tired of FM after christmas, but so far I have 359hrs on FM14. So I usually crit the game in the weeks/months after release, then all of a sudden lose interest. But in October 2014 I'll probably be ordering beta access again.

Im exactly the same mate... Been playing since the CM days even last years i had a save with Sochaux until 2030 i really don't know what it is this year i can't put my finger on it :(

I had a short term save with Newcastle (team I support) won 16 out of 17 games, created my own tactic and was winning pretty well, but not 1 of my players scored an avg rating ov above 7! Ive read this could be a bug but its disheartening, makes me feel like im not performing as a manager (even though unbeaten) Crazy I know anyone wud love to be unbeaten, but I think its a mental thing from my point of view that I want my players to be performing and not just scraping 1 or 2-1 wins.

I'm doing this as well. It helps if you take a LLM team that has reformed (eg Halifax) and try and take them back to their glory days.
