Former England manager Kevin Keegan says Wayne Rooney cannot blame press intrusion for his poor performances for Manchester United.

Er, Wayne Rooney didnt blame press intrusion, SAF blamed press intrusion, Rooney has said very little.

Good accuracy BBC, much like your article about Wenger.

To be fair, it's not the BBC's fault what KK said, as it has been widely reported thats what he has said, for example its also in the sun.

Either way, he isn't the same player he was last season, and the main things that have changed are him having a baby and the extra press attention that has arrived, and I think it would be unfair of him to blame it on his child when the realisation is that he has been ousted as a cheat and that will be a perminent tarnish on his reputation as a 'family man', much the same as Tiger Woods, who also, is not the same player he was before it all came out.

definite agree hes not the same player, and that he was definitely in the wrong, but he's not used it as an excuse or blamed it on others. In fact Rooney hasnt said much apart from try and get his head down. But it amazes how much of story this is with "experts" weighing in from all corners. And not just with rooney, but with footballers in general. Tiresome

Cant sell a single paper without ManUtd player. So much for hyping him as the one who will end England's drought to the person against whom everyone wants to take cheap shots. Waiting for him to be back to his old self.

Considering how good he was while he was ploughing this woman, how about all the United fans stump up a few quid each, and they can fund some more *** sessions, as he is obviously missing it, this might get his mind back on the game... ;)

I don't really see how its Keegans business anyway tbh. Rather than focusing on the negatives, people should be trying to get Rooneys confidence back, rather than pushing him further into a rut, everyone in the country should want Rooney to get his confidence back, as England, as a team, are an entirely different team when he is on form.

it does raise questions about his mentality because when Beckham was going through this his performances didn't decline and also Terry and Cole has been in the same kind of situation recently. But like Dunc said when he was ******** these prossies he was playing the best football of his carear to date so id say get back to it Wazza.

why should Rooney care what Keegan "thinks". in a few weeks Rooney will be banging them in and Keegan will go silent again for a few months.
