This is my first thread and my story of taking my local team Kidderminster Harriers to the top. (I'm a liverpool fan, in the case of any confusion). (Burton is not my real surname either.)

Goals
Season 1
1. To achieve a Play-Off Place.
2. To sign a player from a League 2 club.
3. To have an unbeaten streak of 5 or more. So now with my goals out the way, lets get onto the club.

Club Name: Kidderminster Harriers
League: Conference National
Founded: 1886
Ground: Aggborough: Capacity - 6,250 (3,140 Seated)
Chairman: Mark Serrell
Manager: James Burton
Home Kit: Red

Background: Kidderminster Harriers were formed in 1886 from a succesfull athletics and rugby club that had existed since 1877. 1885-86 was the last season the Harriers played rugby football before switching to association football rules. The harriers played games at Chester Road. In 1887 a rival club named Kidderminster Olympic was set up and rapidly became the best side in the area. In 1889 both clubs were founding members of the Birmingham and District League. A short while afterwards in 1891, the two clubs merged and became Kidderminster F.C. and entered the FA Cup and Midlands League, the club found things financially difficult as a professional club and exited the league in Spring 1891. Afterwards the team reverted its name back to Kidderminster Harriers and reverted to amatuer status. From 1891 to 1939, when World War II started, the Harriers played in the Birmingham and Southern League. In 1983, Kidderminster Harriers were promoted into the Alliance Premier League (Now known as the Conference National or Blue Square Bet Premier). The Harriers won the Conference in 1994 but were not allowed entrance to the football league due to strict safety regulations after the Bradford City stadium fire as the Aggborough main stand was made of wood. The Harriers were again promoted in 1999-2000 under the management of former Liverpool star, Jan Molby and this team were accepted into the Football League. The Harriers remained in the Football League until being relegated at the end of the 2004-05 season. Since 2005, Mark Yates has took charge, replaced by Steve Burr in 2009, trying to guide the Harriers back into the Football League, but now its a new face in management's time to shine. In 2011 Kidderminster Harriers are celebrating 125 years since establishment.

Honours

The Manager - James Burton

James Burton was born on the 29th of March 1969 in Worcester and grew up a keen footballer, Burton's playing position was Centre Forward. When he was 9 he was accepted into the academy of Birmingham City where he stayed for 8 years until he was 17. Burton was offered a first team contract at Dagenham and accepted. Burton was a regular for the Daggers and became a Dagenham and Redbridge player when Dagenham and Redbridge Forest merged in 1992 until he was 28 and was loaned to Yeovil Town. Burton signed for Yeovil a year after in 1998 and stayed until he retired in 2003 at the age of 34. Burton took his UEFA Management qualifications in 2004 and passed. As my name may suggest...I'll be following this!!!!

Good luck!!!

The way I've gone about managing the Harriers in my game was to try and bring back our best players over the last 5 or so years... the likes of James Constable, Mark Creighton and so on so it will be interesting to see how you go about it.

Steve Burr Steps down as Kidderminster Harriers Manager, James Burton replaces him and Kidderminster Harriers announce Pre-Season Fixtures.

Two days ago on July 4th Steve Burr stepped down from his job as Kidderminster Harriers after claiming he'd done all he could for for the Harriers. Kidderminster finished 6th, failing to make a promotion play-off place after suffering a 5 point deduction for misleading financial information. Yesterday on July 5th, former Dagenham/Redbridge and Yeovil star James Burton took charge taking his first managerial job since taking his UEFA Managerial Qualifications in 2004, Burton is to speak for the first time incharge at the Harriers at a press conference in the coming days. Kidderminster Chairman, Mark Serell has expressed that Burton beliveves he can take Kidderminster back into the Football League.

Aswell as the Harriers managerial change, the club has announced their pre season fixtures, which are as following.

10.07.11 vs Carlisle H

13.07.11 vs Bromley A

16.07.11 vs Stourbridge A

22.07.11 vs Liverpool H

26.07.11 vs Salisbury A

28.7.11 vs Wycombe H

With no doubt the largest fixture on the list will be the Harriers home game against Liverpool which will be no-doubtbly the most largest match at Aggborough in the Harriers History.

Burton shows his strength as the Harriers entertain their reserves team in a private friendly.

Kidderminster Harriers 2-1 Kidderminster Harriers Reserves

A flourish of good football on a summers night at Aggborough. The first team took the lead early on after a mistake in the reserves defence lead to a tidy from by Striker Nick Wright, but the reserves equalised on 45 minutes with a strike from the edge of the box from young striker Anthony Malbon. The first team dominated the match and Nick Wright scored his second on 74 minutes to secure a victory for the Harriers first team.

Harriers unlucky against Carlisle and Burton unveils his first two signings.

Kidderminster Harriers 0-1 Carlisle United

The only way to describe Kidderminster's performance was unlucky, for a vast amount of the first half the Harriers were ontop but league 2 side, Carlisle United struck home on 45 minutes with a shot from Rory Loy that secured victory for Carlisle. The Harriers showed determination and hard-working throughout the game despite the loss.

Following the match, James Burton unveiled his first two signings, Marvin Andrews and Britt Assombalonga.

Marvin Andrews was signed on a free transfer from small scottish team Rob Roy, that he had joined earlier in the year. The 35 year old Central Defender has made 103 International Appearances for Trinidad and Tobago and has scored 10 goals for his country. From 2004-2006, Andrews was part of the Rangers team that won the Scottish Premier League and Burton described Andrews as a player he has a "great respect" for. Since Andrews has played for such clubs as Raith, Hamilton, Queen of the South and fellow conference club Wrexham. The defender is thought to make his debut in the Harriers friendly against Bromley on July 13th.

Britt Assombalonga was signed on a season long loan deal from Championship side, Watford. The 18 year old winger spent his youth career at Watford before being promoted into the senior squad. Assombalonga has spent most his time at Watford playing in the reserve team. Burton said he is "delighted" that Assombalonga has joined the Harriers. It is unknown whether he will make his debut against Bromley in the same match as other new signing, Marvin Andrews as the deal is still being processed.

Wright scores four and Assombalonga gets debut goal as Kidderminster destroy Bromley, plus Kidderminster introduce their newest star striker.

Bromley 0-5 Kidderminster Harriers

A fabulous game of football today for Harriers fans but for Bromley fans who went out to watch their team at home, it was something of a home destruction. The match was only a friendly, but the Harriers fans will feel pleased and excited as they watched what their squad can do all round. Kidderminster took the lead after 8 minutes after Nick Wright scored from just outside the box. Kidderminster strengthened their lead to 2 on the 14th minute after debut boy Brit Assombalonga headed the ball home to score his first goal for the club. Kidderminster were then awarded a penalty in the 17th minute that was shot wide by striker Jamille Matt. Wright made it 2 for himself and 3 for Kidderminster on the 38th minute when he scored from inside the box after a great cross from Jamille Matt. After half time, Kidderminsters reign of domination didn't stop and on the 59th minute Wright went one on one to score a lob over the keeper scoring a hatrick. Wright wasn't done there however and scored another goal in rapid succession on the 60th minute to guarantee a memorable peformance from Wright and Kidderminster. For his performance, Nick Wright was awarded Man of the Match.

In a press conference after the game, Burton unveiled his newest signing.

Lyle Taylor was signed on a free transfer from Bournemouth. The 22 year-old spent most of his Bournemouth career trying to push into the first team but he believes a move to Kidderminster Harriers will help him get first-team football. Taylor shares his birthday with manager James Burton, both were born on the 29th March. Burton says that Taylor is a "great player" and Burton hopes his efforts combined with the rest of the teams will help push the Harriers to promotion.
