Ok, this is basicly to check if I'm being stupid or if the game has bugged...

I've just bought a new Defensive Midfielder for the upcoming season, but the problem is he's a non-EU player and with 3 already in my team it pushes me over the limit

The player in question doesn't turn 19 until 2.2.2013 so I was under the impression he shouldn't need to be registered, yet when I don't register him he shows up as Ineligible.

So the question: Do u19s who are foreign need to be registered to be eligible to play?

My non-EU youngsters who were U19 have never needed to be registered on my Cultural Leonesa file.

The Spanish transfer and registration windows are a bit funny though, have you tried taking a backup save and just playing through until the registration window closes to see is hes still ineligible?

I'll give that a go, hopefully it will work. If not I'll have to loan him out until January when one of my other Foreign players will hopefully gain a Spanish passport.

I was obviously wrong then. Could have sworn that I have got at least 4 or 5 non-EU U19s though....

Sorry Leeeeeeeeee

I've looked at the rules document I got for my database modification, the only thing I've found that may be relevant to this case is that non-EU players can play for the main team if they've been registered by a feeder club.

So, if those two players were registered for, say, Las Palmas B, then that would be the reason for it.

Thanks for the help anyway guys.

Although you cant register non-eu players for the feeder team i.e on my Barca save i couldn't place a non-eu player who was u19 in the Barca Atl team.

That's the rule I mentioned. Since it's registered for Barcelona Atlético, he can't play for FC Barcelona.

Hmm I signed an 18 year old Fgn goalkeeper who was in my B Team and managed to register him and was able to play him despite already having 3 Fgn players registered with the first team.

I actually tried this with my DM too and it didn't work, like you said it wouldn't. Strange game.

The rules seem to be inconsistent at best.

The same thing happened in my Valencia game, where I was signing a lot of young talent in an attempt to train them up to new heights and sell them on for profit. Some of them could be registered, some of them could not, with no noticeable reason why.

There are quite a few errors/faults with the game in terms of registering players. Just have to quit your ******** Lee.
