Lack of ability to hit the target!!

I am Playing as Rangers in my first season, We're top of the league by 2 points with 2 games in hand in the semi of the cup but on occasion i find we have a problem hitting shots on target!
For instance, in my last game we had NO shots on target away at Aberdeen!!
