I don't know about you guys, but on my FM14, I'm two seasons in, and the most a club that isn't me has paid for a player is 27 million. Theres never any "big money transfers". Also, I'm Liverpool, and Real Madrid and PSG were bidding for Suarez around the 25 million mark when his value is 40. Ozil was transfer listed by request at Arsenal cos they failed to get champs league in my second season of gameplay, they listed him at 35m and nobody even bid for him.

Do this mean large money transfers just not happen on FM? Is the amount the AI managers will bid capped at around the 30m mark? This is a feature I noticed on the older FM handheld games, which I was glad was not present on FMH13. Now I've moved onto FM on computer I'm quite dissapointed that with the wealth of detail and features present they don't seem to have quite mimmicked a real life transfer market accurately.

I ask mainly because if I do wish to sell a player valued at 30/40m, I have wondered if I am wasting my time holding on for transfers level with their value?

I have sold players for over 30m before. Usually with some of it paid over a few months though. If you are using the player regularly and he has good potential then you'll get a lot for him.

on my save i had bits for jones and rafael over 46m...refused...sold verratti for 50m....ozil transfer lister (value 40m..sold for 50)...no big issues over transfers

There are far more on this one than on the last few. I never saw a transfer in excess of ?45 million on FM 12 and 13, but on this one I've seen several. Carlos Fierro for example went to United for ?70 million. I also get regular bids of the same value for my Portuguese regen, though I would never consider selling him.

Sold Nani for 70 Million $ in one of my older United saves;; Same with Vitinho on one of my Soton saves;; Schneiderlin went for 60 Million $ I think, and Wanyama was receiving bids upto 80 Million $, which I rejected. It's quite possible, depends on what players the A.I team has, the form of your players, your club reputation and the like.

Nani's value especially was only 29 Million $ at that time, so big transfers do happen. But it varies with different saves..

With my Soton save I bought Luciano vietto for 4.5mil, 1 season and 48 goals later a sold him to united for 45 mil!!

Oh yeah, in my Soton save, United made a ****** mess of transfers. I'd got Tom Ince for 5.25 Million $ in the first year. Sold him to United 4 seasons later for 60 Million, where he played 5 games in a season. Jake Sinclair, who I promoted from Youth, was sold to United for 65 Million $ the next season, and he played 10 games a season. They made a blunderfuck of transfers on my Soton save.
