Lack of discipline

How can I improve the lack of discipline within the club my Bristol City team pick up at least 2 maybe 3 yellow cards every game!

The only options I have seen is to issue a warnings after red cards or fining players but they never seem to respond from this, or if i do get a response is a negative?

Any ideas?

Tune down the tackling, press less or use less aggresive players. Also I think you can recommend players to stand on their feet or something so they don't go in a full sliding tackle.
