This is a tactic I developed for my Highly Succesful Ajax team.
With it I won the Eredevisie by 14 points, with 86 goals scored and only 17 conceded.
I also Surprised myself and lead them to Glory in the Champions League, Beating teams such as Man Utd (7-0 on Aggregate) Real Madrid (3-2 Aggregate) and Arsenal in the Final (2-1).
I averaged 2-3 goals a game, with very few conceded.
As you can see, The tactic looks VERY defensive, with 6 defensive players, it isnt though, I just designed it like this to dominate as much of the pitch as possible.
I took inspiration from Joachim Loew's system of dividing the pitch into 18 sections and having a player in as many as possible. This isnt possible on FM, So I divided the pitch into 3. A Defensive Area, A Supporting Area and An Attacking Area. My system works so that ANY player in the Defensive area will work defensively, A player in the Supporting area will Support and look to Channel the play, and Players in The Attacking Area drive forward, scoring and creating. It sounds simple, yet it works.
Its effectively a simplified Total Football System, and though the players dont switch position, they will take on a role if it comes to them, though they will return to there position.
I have also developed a take on the Favoured Stopper/Cover system, where the 2 CB's cover, Sweeping up Through Balls and Crosses, and The 2 DM's Aim to Stop any attacks from beginning (Playing as Stoppers) This proved highly effective as it eliminated the errors that come with the standard Stopper Cover System (One Player Being Dragged out of Position too much)
Now To The Formation-
Heres The Roles that Each Player has and Important Attributes
GK- Standard Keeper, Any decent keeper will do
WbL/R- WB Support, Needs Crossing, Decisions, Any Defensive Attribute is a Bonus
CB L/R- Cover, Pace, Concentration, Anticipation.
DM L/R- Defend, Tackling, Strength, Concentration, Work Rate, Stamina.
CM- Support, Passing, Creativity, Decisions
AmCr- Adv Playmaker Attack, Passing, Dribbling, Creativity, Flair, Decisions
AmCl- Inside Forward Attack, Dribbling, Finishing, Flair, Composure
StR- Poacher Attack, Dribbling, Finishing, Pace, Composure
The Front 3
These Guys are The Key in this system.
The Attacking Mids are what give this system great potency.
The Playmaker (AMCR) Will both Score and Create goals, He drops Deeper at times acting as another CM.
The Inside Forward (AMCL) Acts more as a supporting Striker, runs at defenders opening up space for the other two players. He may not score as many as the other two, but is equally important.
The Poacher leads the line, he is set to Run On To Balls therefore encouraging more through balls, a real goal machine. I played Robbie Kruse here (250k from some A-League team) and He scored 17 league goals and 12 in The Champs League not bad for a very average striker.
Hope That Helps.
Pitch Size- Standard
OI-None
Match Prep- I forgot about this So I guess any will do.
