How long does it usually take players to learn a new language?

I have had Adryan since july time and im currently in march and hes still struggling to learn english.

It depends on their adaptability. I bought two players who couldn't speak English nor had they played in Britain and it took one 6 months to learn English and the other over 12 months. If you have a editor, genie scout etc you will see their adaptability ratings.
