What is happening! I am Sheff Utd in the Championship using the Brian Clough 4-4-2 tactics. I have played 4 games, drew 4....
Reading 1-1 Sheff Utd (They score 93rd minute equaliser)
Watford 1-1 Sheff Utd (They score 92nd minute equaliser)
Sheff Utd 1-1 Wolves (They score 93rd minute equaliser)
Sheff Utd 2-2 Bristol City (They score 94th minute equaliser)

WHAT IS GOING ON?!

Where's your luck man???i don't know what's happening i bet nobody has never seen a thing like that.

AI likes a lot to go 4-2-4 in the later minutes (usually around min 80, can be earlier) ona very attacking tactic, which often gives them results.

Not so much against me (except when playing against Liverpool), what I do is play slower, mix passing focus, be a bit slower, waste more time, but never go more defensive in mentality, tops I remove the free man tick mark from some players (usually the wingers). In fact a couple of times the result of that AI change has been I've increased the difference by a goal.

Okay cheers bud, it's so annoying!!

Oh, one thing I forgot: it's a good idea to have the rival's formation window up when nearing the end of the match, because I've found when playing seeing full match the commentary line won't tell you of the change until some time has passed. In one match I spotted their change at minute 72 and the commentary didn't tell until 87. Had I not been watching match in full I would have had my team not countering it during 15 minutes, which could have been more than enough to get scored at least once.

Change the passing style to more of a short technique to keep hold of possession and slow the tempo down.

That should help at least.

If he's using the Clough tactics he'll struggle to do that as passing and tempo are already on as low as they can go.

Increase time wasting and play a bit deeper for the last 10 mins or so.

I find out, at least in my teams, that a high defensive line, combined with high closing down and playing offside is effective against it as well.

Oh yes, I didn't mention that because I have those as standard in my tactics

What I do and what has worked for me, is to show all strikers to their weaker foot and hard tackling. Also close down the two remaining midfielders, hard tackling, weaker foot. This way supply from midfield is poor and you have a good chance of picking the ball up in midfield and scoring a goal. This tactic only worked once (Liverpool) against me.

You need to change your tactics during the game. The CPU nearly always pushes to a 4-2-4. Doesn't get them anywhere with me.

1) Ask all your defenders and most of your midfield to stay back. Particularly the wingers, last minute goals I find often result from being beaten down the flanks.
2) Change the mentality to defensive
3) Push time wasting up
4) Decrease the width to put more people between the goal and them
5) Drop the defenders back a little but don't drop too deep, use with caution as this can sometimes cause more damage than good. If they have a midfield good at retaining possession and with effective shooting scrap this tactic.
6) Slow the tempo and take the sting out the game, players will be tired and you'll retain possession easier this way
7) Change your front man to someone who is effective at retaining possession. A target man is ideal, keeping the ball is nine tenths of the law.
8) Someone particularly bothering you? Set a player to man mark.

I basiclly just use the OI tightmakr/always on all strikers and wingers and leave my fullbacks back at all times
