I'm not if I like the latest patch. It started off really well. Winning regulary, usually by a lot of goals. Even Van der Vaart was banging them in from over the place, something I could not get him to do in the previous patch. My teams morale was superb, the whole teams joint average ratings were probably the highest they've ever been. Then all of a sudden they became really inconsistant. The last lot of games were a prime example, beating Arsenal and Chelsea, but only managing a draw with Southampton and Newcastle. I've won the league the last 2 years running, and now I'm in 7th (admittedly with 3 games in hand, which if I win will take me up to 2nd. I've got some really easy games coming up and I'm not confident I'm going to win them. Is anyone else having this problem with the latest patch?

P.S. Sorry Mr Moderator, but I did put this on the Patch Feedback thread, but no one seems to read it.
 
I don't see what you're going through as a problem.. It depends on how you manage your team, it won't be because of the patch because as you said, you have won the season with Tottenham for the past 2 seasons so you are over-acheiving really.

I don't agree. I've signed Tevez, Balotelli and added quite a few players to the squad. So it's not like I'm playing with the basic Spurs side. Last season I run away with the league in the older patch. It seems a bit funny how things have gone downhill since updating.

What tactics are you using and how long have you been using them?
 
Most of the time playing different variations of 4-4-2. But have the option to play 4-2-3-1 or diamond. I've been using this for the past 5 seasons.
 
I'm no expert, but surely your 'predicament' is just the game giving you another challenge - isn't that a good thing?

Personally I try not to think of FM in terms of 'patches' and 'bugs' - I like to immerse myself in it and forget it's a game (H)
 
Yeah I appreciate that. I just wanted to know if it was happening because of the new patch or not. I still can't work out why my team has become so inconsistant though.
 
The match engine changes with every patch, it could be you tactics are just less effective with the new patch
 
That still doesn't answer why I beat Arsenal (who I very rarely beat) and Chelsea, but before and after those games I'm drawing with Southampton, Newcastle etc. I might be overreacting, if I win my next 3 games in hand I will go back up to 2nd, 1pt behind the leaders. But then I was thinking the next lot of games I've got in hand should be quite easy, but then had a 0-0 with Southampton. Oh well, I'll just have to see how it goes. Maybe start changing things a bit.
 
It happens in real life all the time. Victories over strong opposition followed by losses against much poorer teams who you should beat.
