Located right in the center of England; the administrative hub of Yorkshire and the Humber,
lies the third largest city in the United Kingdom. Home to one of Europe's most historic clubs.

There is not a single Leeds fan who dose not know the name 'Don Revie',
and for good reason. He made the club what it is; what it's remembered for!

Two Football League First Division titles, one FA Cup, one League Cup, two
Inter-Cities Fairs Cups, one Football League Second Division title and one Charity
Shield.... 8 trophies in 13 years. He built a dynasty.

League History, the fan-base and facilities. A 40,000 seater stadium: the 12th
largest in the country. There is a missing ingredient here. Something needed
to tip them over the edge and bring them forward to be the footballing
Goliath they were always meant to be.... that thing is me!

Welcome to Leeds United: Where we belong.

This will be my last story before FM16. Fancied something new and it's been a few years since I've had a Leeds save. I'll try get to this as often as I can but I'm fairly swamped at home so there may be 2-3 days between updates. Either or, I hope ye enjoy this save.

Leeds United stories always catch my eye...Good luck with this. I'll be following.

Massimo Cellino
Owner of Leeds United

Massimo Cellino:
"Good day friend. So tell me... Why should I hire you?"
John McDermot:
"Because I'm stupid enough to work for you...."

That pretty much was how the Interview went. That crazy Italian *******. I'm just hoping
to Christ that I don't have to deal with him too often... Though let's be realistic, he
owns the club, of course I'm going to have to deal with him!

The state of afairs at the club as current are quite woeful... the backroom staff for example
is severely lacking. Not of quality; literally lacking.

The Squad is what you'd expect of a championship side. Decent but I probably wouldn't
buy them had they not already been here. Leeds dose however have a decent Youth
setup so I'll be looking to make the most out of the academe: Be it 1st team potential
or sales to finance transfers.

In my opinion, what's held Leeds back is their obsession with returning to the top flight...
In their current condition, we'd be 10,000/1 odds to stay up, and I've no interest in
subjecting myself to a season like that. No, my plan is to consolidate in the Championship
and mount a Promotion challenge in year 3.

Though the main aim, is to buy back Elland Road! Then we can really push on

Looks good Brendn - will be following. Last story before 16 though, aren't we a good 6 months off FM16?

My Liverpool Story started the second week of Beta and that one ran until mid-Feburary.... :P If this save gets off the ground, it'll be a long one :)

Don't worry Cellino will have a court case every other day so don't worry about seeing him often! Good luck with Leeds, they're an annoying team to manage on FM. Just want to note if you score with Antenucci it's Mirco Antenucci (FM spelt his name wrong) I know it's no big deal haha.

Haha, I think his name was corrected in one of the .xml files I downloaded (real comp' names and nicknames, ect ).
Leeds used to be a lot of fun back in FM10/11 with Beckford and becchio :) Pace and power; always a good combination. I'm not aiming for promotion off the bat. I want to spend a year or two building a core squad and strengthening the spine of the team since I feel we'd be destroyed in the Premier League if we went up this season.

This story seems interesting...
Will follow this ! Good fortune !
What a crazy reply :P :)

What you said there summed up one of my saves with them on this FM, I finished second after a very strong second half of the season and got battered in the prem, just scraping past the 11 point Derby record.

A lot of players have potential rather than already having the current ability like other Championship clubs do.

SI have been very generous towards Bellusci and have given him some pretty good stats and makes him a good player to have in defence (unlike real life)

Obviously as a Leeds fan, I could talk about every player in position and who I think is better than others, but I need to bite my tongue.. take a back seat and enjoy the story :P

Oh, for the good ol' days of 'arry & Dukes!

This story is bringing out my nostalgic side....

The 5 year plan:

2014/15 Season: Year 1

  • Maintain our status as a mid-table Championship Club.
  • Evaluate the Key players and identify youth players ready to come into the senior set up.
  • Identify long term transfer targets for positions we do not have players, or youth available for.

2015/16 Season: Year 2

  • Push for a top half finish 10th-7th position.
  • Try to sign Key transfers
  • Sell players who are not part of the long term future of the club
  • Move towards a more disciplined squad with higher determination.

2016/17 Season: Year 3

  • Mount a promotion charge.
  • Develop a fail plan in-case we miss out on promotion.
  • Start plans to upgrade training and youth facilities.

2017/18 Season: Year 4

  • Using the Premier League T.V. money, buy back Elland Road.
  • Survive Relegation from the premier League
  • Be prepared to sell 1-2 key players in Janurary to fund our survival.

2018/19 Season: Year 5

  • Once again, avoid relegation.
  • Sign Premier League standard players from the relegated teams to replace the players I'll loose to the bigger cubs.
  • To to maintain a core squad of 8-10 players who the team will be built around.

Long term transfer Targets.

I see Marco Silvestri more as a top end Championship Goalkeeper. I don't see him staying with us long after we get into the Premiership. The long term replacement I have in mind is Norwich City U21's Goalkeeper Declan Rudd.

A very solid a capable goalkeeper, Rudd is only being kept out of the first team by a 27 year old John Ruddy (Who I think is one of the best keepers IRL). With Marc Bunn firmly established as their no.2 I have a real chance of being able to lure him away on a loan deal; with option to buy, next year if Norwich get promoted.

I was quite happy with how our pre-season went. There are goals in this team,
that much is for certain. Though we've a lot of work to do at the back as we
can't rely on out-scoring the opponent every week. Tightening up that defense
is a major priority.

The stand out performer during pre season as definitely Billy Sharp. 7 goals and
4 assist gives me huge hope for this season as he could be a creative force up
front. Antenucci did well for himself, netting 4 goals and 4 assists while Casper Sloth,
when played in that ACM role, he links up so well with the front men, as shown by
his 5 assists. Going forward, I can no fears for this team at all.

I'm genuinely torn between who do I start in Goal. Both Taylor and Silvestri had similar
per-seasons. Both conceded goals but both made vital saves. I think I'll rotate between
them for the first half of the season and see who takes the challenge!
