Leicester City have today parted company with Nigel Pearson with the 51 year-old Englishman said to be gutted yet at his dismissal. Pearson had been in charge at Leicester since 2011 and after leading The Foxes to promotion last campaign; this sacking can certainly be seen as a little suspicious. It has been rumoured that club chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha has outlined a new direction for the club, something you can hear more about live on SkySports News later this afternoon as he faces the cameras.

Happier times: Vichai and Nigel celebrate promotion.

With the new season rapidly approaching and pre-season preparation starting to takeplace, Leicester fans can be forgiven for their negativity. We caught up withformer fans favourite Muzzy Izzet, who indeed reflected the viewpoint to be expected from Foxes fans.

Muzzy: fans favourite

“It’s shocking, Nigel has led this team to the Premier League, we should be celebrating his icon status, not sacking him before a ball is kicked”. He then went on to add “He’s even started building the team, spent money on the likes of Ulloa, Cambiasso and Marc Albrighton, these signings wouldn’t have come cheap and is there any guarantee the new manager is going to be content with this summer’s rebuilding and if he isn’t,will there be any funds left to further strengthen? It’s a mess.”

With the new Premier League season upon us, one thing is for certain, Leicester City have some decisions to make and need to make them fairly quickly. A full club statement is expected in due course, we will bring you any further news as its recieved.

Next Leicester City manager latest odds:

1/3 –Tim Sherwood
4/1 – Glen Hoddle
5/1 – Michael Laudrap
6/1 – Eddie Howe
10/1 – Neil Lennon
16/1 – Kevin Phillips
20/1 – Esteban Cambiasso
50/1 - Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha

LEICESTER CITY APPOINT ROOKIE WHYTE

View attachment 298780
Unknown: Such is his status,
we don't yet have a picture of
The Foxes new boss.

Leicester City chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha has today confirmed rookie manager Olly Whyte is set to take over the management reigns at the club. The unknown Englishman has been handed his first opportunity in football management at the age of just 19, a deal that has sent shockwaves across the footballing community.

Vichai: Revolutionising football?

Srivaddhanaprabha confirmed the news at a press conference this morning, in which he was quick to justify his decision “I want to be remembered by the supporters of this club, I want to be known for making a revolutionary decision, I want to change football in England and try something out of the ordinary”. He added “We were close toagreeing something with Tim Sherwood, but why? I was replacing a perfectly competent manager for another one. But for what? I need to be different, I’ve employed a 19 year old, but trust me when I say this, he will be a success at his club, and my decision will be justified, I have the upmost confidence in what I’ve done”.

Rebuild: Cambiasso and Ulloa (both above)
to be joined by more signings.

Before departing it was announced as part of the deal Whyte has requested he rebuilds the club from top to bottom, including a mass overhaul of the existing backroom staff and the start of a squad rebuilding project, a request Srivaddhanaprabha evidently supports “I’m excited by it, he’s come in and took the club by the scruff of the neck, his office hasn’t even been cleared yet but he’s important decisions”. “I will happily support any signings that need to be made, although I’m weary ofrestraints this summer due to the deals we have already made under Nigel, we have to be sensible but I’m almost certain that we should expect at least a few more arrivals”.

Wilkins: Whyte's assitant?

Olly Whyte is to be officially announced as Leicester City’s new manager in a press conference at the King Power Stadium scheduled for latertoday. It has been rumoured former Chelsea assistant manager and TV pundit Ray Wilkins has already reached a deal to become Whyte’s right hand man, it is likely that the pair will be taking questions together at the scheduled conference.

With questions already being asked of Srivaddhanaprabha over this somewhat strange appointment. What can Leicester City fans expect from this campaign? Has the Leicester hierarchy been brave or foolish? Judging by the Leicester City Fans Forum, FoxesTalk we'd be inclined to say foolish. Only time will tell.

WHYTE - THE FIRST PRESS CONFERENCE

Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha
- I'd like to introduce you all o the new manager of Leicester City, Olly Whyte. He has personally requested for me to pass over to him next as he'd like to say a few words before any questions are asked. Thank you.

Olly Whyte - Thanks Vichai. Good afternoon all, it's a pleasure to be here and speak to you all, I'd like to firstly thank Vichai for this fantastic opportunity, an opportunity I'm desperate to succeed in. Before I'm asked the obvious question, I'm going to respond to it myself. I'm Olly Whyte, a 19 year old football fanatic, I may not have played the game to a high standard but my knowledge and understanding of the game shouldn't be doubted, I have my own standards and I want to take this club as far as possible, I want to win trophies, I want to build a long lasting legacy. Before I take any questions I'd like to welcome Ray Wilkins to the club who will be joining me as assistant at the club, he's someone I'm looking to learn from. Myself and Ray are now ready to listen to any questions you may have.

Chris Giles (Daily Mail) - Do you feel your lack of experience will count against you?

Olly Whyte - Absolutely not, what I don't have in experience I have in motivation. Besides, on the job experience will come in time, and I'm a big advocate of that.

Chris Giles (Daily Mail) - What about you Ray, do you feel superior to Olly, despite only being his right hand man so to speak?

Ray Wilkins - Not at all, I'm fortunate to have experienced a lot in football already. I'm looking to build on that and pass some of my knowledge onto Olly, but I must admit, I feel I can learn a lot from Olly as well, his fan like appreciation of the game is something to be admired, it will serve this club well, I'm sure.

Damien Knowles (The Guardian) - It's been rumoured you plan to bring big changes to the club, what is meant by this?

Olly Whyte - Expect to see some changes to the backroom staff over the coming days, certainly. I've spoke to them all as a group and they all accept what I have said. In regards to signings, expect to see a dabble into the market soon, yes.

Tom Eaves (The Sun) - Hi Olly, have you been promised funding to push forward these deals you talk about?

Olly Whyte - Apologies but I won't be taking questions from your paper, I don't agree with your values and I'd discourage your attendance in the future, sorry.

Derek Coombes (The Daily Star) - Do you have a personal rallying message you appease any doubtful fans?

Olly Whyte - I feel actions speak a lot louder than words, but what I will say is I'm here to represent the fans, I will make sure every player that pulls on that strip is willing to fight for the shirt, I can be a success, I'm privileged to be at the vocal point of this new direction and I will justify the fortune I've had to get here.

Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha - On that note I think we should draw things to a close. There will be an opportunity to speak to the manager in further detail in the coming weeks, We thank you all for your attendance today, and here's to the start of a new chapter in this clubs history.

PRE SEASON PROGRESS AND TRANSFER NEWS!

View attachment 298123

What an absolutely dreadful pre-season campaign, just the one win and that was to be expected Vs the U21's. Positively thinking though, Ulloa was in good form leading the line well and bringing his teammates into play. If it wasn't for the signings I made with the deadline approaching I would have been in negative spirits as the season approached. Hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come!

TRANSFERS OUT!

View attachment 298119

I was absolutely delighted to receive almost 9 million from Crystal Palace for the services of David Nugent and Andy King, two players I felt would be surplus to requirements here. The money was welcomed doubling my transfer kitty to almost £20 million!

TRANSFERS IN!

View attachment 298115

I immediately identified the need to rebuild my team from the back. The signings of Ciaran Clark and Paul Dummett were very pleasing. Both good quality players at this standard with scope to improve given game time.

View attachment 298114

Dele Alli was a no brainer in my opinion, given his status on the game and in real life, a real talent and one who will be getting game time from day one!

View attachment 298113

Pione Sisto is a player I have admired on this game, and at just 2.5 million I couldn't say no. I was going to persist with Riyad Mahrez in this position, but I just felt Sisto optimises everything I look for in an attacking winger.

Takashi Inui was recomended to me by my trusty assistant Ray Wilkins, I debated the decision at first but I've taken the risk with the 26 year-old Japanese international. I plan to use him as an inside forward, using his direct running and dribbling skills, I feel he could make a real impact on the Premier League. Could really go one of to ways though.

View attachment 298108

Wilson Palacios, not exactly the most insprational signing, I agree. But a steady Premier League midfielder, who will certainly add some steel to the team.

View attachment 298104

Eder Alvarez Balanta and Alexsander Mitrovic! Absolutely delighted that I've managed to sign these two. Delighted. Didn't think I'd be able to attract this calibre of player to next season due to lack of funding. But with deadline day approaching I asked my chairman about additional funding and with an additional 356k waes per week pumped into the coffers I was given a lot of flexibility to make these deals happen. Both included installments but I think these two will be sticking round, so thats not too much of a risk in my opinion.

I have now completed my first month of the season also, so expect an update as to what progress I have made so far shortly! Excited about this game and think I can take this club far, finders crossed!!!

AUGUST

View attachment 298076
Started the season with a disappointing 0-2 home defeat to Newcastle. Never really got going and was punished with two well deserved goals from Facundo Ferraya.

View attachment 298075

Was fairly content with the 0-0 draw away at QPR, they have a deeply talented squad of players even if they don't always show it in real life. A great performance from my defence who stood strong and held out for a deserved point.

View attachment 298074

Made a few changes to the team in preparation for the trip to Hartlepool. An expected win, but still a great performance with Pione Sisto showing his quality by scoring two David Beckham style free kicks!

View attachment 298073

I rounded of the month in real style! A polished performance and a comfortable 2-0 win over Tottenham second half subsitutes Danny Drinkwater and Nick Powell on the scoresheet. Both players empahasising the importance of having a big squad.

PLAYER OF THE MONTH

View attachment 298082
Liam Moore

Since being appointed full time captain of the club replacing Wes Morgan, Liam has shown real maturity beyond his years and contributed towards 3 clean sheets on the bounce scoring a great header Vs Hartlepool in the process.

AUGUST: A SUMMARY

Overall I'm fairly happy with my start to the season. 4 points from 9 and progress in the League Cup! My favoured line up at this stage can be found below:

View attachment 298083

Not too much more I can say at this stage, its been a month dedicated to club change rather than focus on games. I have completely rebuilt my backroom staff, I felt it was important to stamp my authority on the club and give fresh impetus. Only Kevin Phillips and Steve Walsh remain at the club, the rest have been replaced over the last few weeks. Special mention to club icon Muzzy Izzet who will be taking control of the U18's squad!

Dont think this is going to get any real interest? I am considering starting a more challenging game with Blackpool (everyone on one year contracts and only 90k per week for the whole squad!), would anyone follow?

I will follow at Blackpool too, could do it here if you stuck at it! You've only done August!
