I'm thinking of exploiting the Libero position but I can't seem to find a team and tactic that would suit it.
Also what are the few best Libero's in the game?

Liberos are very rare, because it requires a Defender with good attacking skills too. The players that are natural/accomplished Sweepers, there is -

Gonzalo Rodriguez(Villarreal)
Jan Verthongen(Ajax)
Julio Cesar Caceres(Olimpia)
Youssef Rabeh(Wydad Casablanca)

Or, you could maybe look to retrain somebody like -

Veggard Forren(Molde)
Dante(Gladbach)
Madjid Bougherra(Lehkwiya)

you need Paul Warhurst playing in the game good at the back great up front for Sheffield Wenesday LOL

Try also samba from blackburn - I know it sounds ridiculous, but he is an attacking DC. Works as a target man as well.

danny wilson, check his creativity, unusually high for a defender

also i made a 1-4-2-2-1 tactic in fm11, worked well, just an idea

eg:lib/sweeper, cbx2, dl, dr, mcx2, aml, amr, st

i felt liberio was like having a defensive midfielder lower down the field who pushed up the field on attack

stamina is a must (think baresi in his day) although he was pure sweeper

The only issue is with the libero role in FM is that the Match Engine is too rigid, so the player cannot fulfil his role, because he doesn't push forward in front of the defence and take control of the ball.

Agree totally with the above.
