DAVIDS GONE MAD? DREW TAKES OVER AT UPTON PARK

After a disappointing 2009/10 season, the two Davids have sacked Gianfranco Zola. This news is expected as Zola has taken blame for the poor season the Hammers have had. As West Ham pursue the appointment of a new manager, they have placed every player up for sale apart from the idolized Scott Parker, known to the West Ham faithful 'Super Scott'.
Fans were hoping for a British manager, with some history with the club. Names such as Trevor Brooking, Iain Dowie and even Paolo Di Canio have been thrown around in East London.
But as the title shows, they have found someone. After looking on wikipedia in the history of West Ham, the name 'Bobby Drew' does not appear. However speaking to the club, we have this to say about Drew. He is a lifelong fan, something West Ham fans will appreciate, season ticket holder in Sir Trevor Brooking Lower for 7 years, and constantly talking West Ham.
This comes as a shock, but today West Ham fans are hoping for the best but expecting the worst. But who knows..

Drew: It is a dream come true, I applied almost as a joke thinking they would never hire me, but to my astonishment they have and I have to grasp at it and make the most of it. know the thoughts of the terraces, and which players I want to sell and buy so hopefully it shouldn't be too bad.. I hope! I want to bring back the glory days of 1965 when we won the European Cup Winners Cup.

Pre Season Report: WEST HAM

Many were surprised about the rush appointment of Bobby Drew, just 5 days after Zola was sacked. However, many fans are surprised with how well Bobby Drew has bought and sold since taking over. He said he knew what the fans wanted, and it's proving true.Relatively, Drew is a fan, but come 15th August at the DW stadium, he surely won't be. With the travelling 3,000 cockneys to the left of him he will feel pressure, pressure which he said he will live on.

Transfers and Tactics are listed Below..

Pre Season Results:

Notts County 0-4 West Ham - Cole,Noble, Stanislas, Dyer.

Qpr 1-3 West Ham - Carlton Cole (2), Noble

Crusaders 0-1 West Ham - Benni Mcarthy

Drew: No goal for Gignac which was kind of worrying, but I am sure he can open his scoring against Wigan..

All that remains is the result at the DW stadium this saturday.

Mark Lawrenson Prediction: 1-1

Should maybe look into selling Dyer, his wages can be a problem.

Good Luck.

Gabbadon(sp) + 500k for Gignac, good piece of business there

I'd try to exchange Hamsik for Faubert + some money
Anyway,good transfers

Solid Start for Drew and West Ham

The Media was present at the DW stadium today for the arrival of Bobby Drew, the new manager of West Ham United. An unknown man, pictures only seen of him at Chadwell Heath and in the papers, today we saw him rally his troops for a solid performances at an unhappy hunting ground in previous seasons the DW stadium.

EPL
: Wigan Athletic 0-0 West Ham

Solid performance from West Ham, with chances begging the Hammer failed to capitalise on their very neat build up play.

EPL: Fulham 0-1 West Ham - Gignac

Andre Pierre Gignac opened his scoring for the club in unreal fashion, curling in unstoppable shot from outside the box. Described by Guy Mowbray at Match of the day as 'Oooooooooh! What a goal! Pure inspiration from Gignac!' West Ham were hanging on at the end, but once again kept a clean sheet.

Prior to the match, Valencia boss Emery, has expressed his firm interest in Carlton Cole. After this Carlton Cole has asked West Ham boss if he could leave, or be put up for sale. As a fan, Drew has put Cole up for sale. Drew said: ' Coley is one of mine, and the fans favourite players. But obviously if Valencia express interest in him, I do not blame him for expressing to me his desire to join Valencia.' Was the Fulham match the last time Hammers fans sung 'Always Believe in Carlton Cole'? It remains to be seen.

Carling Cup: West Ham 1-0 Nottingham Forest - Diamanti

Poor performance from the Hammers, in a full strength team bar Diamanti in for Cole. But still they grinded out a result that they probably deserved.

EPL: West Ham1-0 Wolves - Sahilovic.

Another 1-0 victory for West Ham, another boring match. West Ham created some great openings, with a bit of flair, they could have won this game by more. Sahilovic is proving a very good playmaker, a player they had missed since fans favorite Yossi Benayoun left 2 years ago. This was re-iterated when Sahilovic curled in a free kick for the only goal of th game.

West Ham, currently sitting 3rd place!

PS the skin is Revolution skin, it is in downloads on this site :)
Here is the current league table also:

September Update

An OK month for West Ham, dampened by the loss to the Yids.

EPL: West Ham 1-2 Man City - Noble

A decent performance from West Ham, after dominating the first half, they took the lead from Mark Noble after Given fumbled a Gignac shot. City responded, but in the 87th minute, West Ham favourite Carlos Tevez struck, which was deemed to be offside. As much as West Ham were aggrieved by the goal, the fans were happy it was Tevez and not Bellamy.

EPL: Newcastle 0-0 West Ham

A boring game for the neutral. Chances were few. West Ham dominated the first half, but the sulky Carlton Cole just did not look interested as he fluffed his lines at the chance of the first half, in a half the Hammers dominated. He was subbed at half time. With Green injured Marek Stech was drafted in, and he was tested in the second half as Newcastle pressed for a winner, but the closest they came was hitting the post from a free kick. West Ham would probably be the happier of the two sides.

EPL:
West Ham 0-1 Tottenham

The most devastating loss West Ham fans will bear, a poor performance which showed no desire from a West Ham side facing their rivals. Spuds dominated from early on and took the lead through Palacios. Fans call out for 4-4-2 for the cup game at Stoke..

Carling Cup
Stoke City 2-1 West Ham

Decent performance from West Ham, very unlucky, two chances, two goals for the Potters. Will be a different outcome when West Ham visit the Britannia again in 3 days time in the league.

EPL: Stoke City 1-2 West Ham

There were starts for Benni and Kieron Dyer in the starting lineup for the Hammers, and boy it paid off. Dyer slipped in Gignac for the first, but Stoke pegged back through Whithead. Then Drew brought on Cole, who had a morale of 'very poor'. Cole picked up the ball on the half way, and ran to the byline, crossing in and meeting the head of Dyer, who sealed the win on 81 minutes. A great performance from West Ham. Cole got injured, but went off to a standing ovation to the 3,000 strong Cockneys in the away end.

West Ham finish the month in 5th!

Player of the month: Sejad Salihovic - a Bosnian great for The Hammers.

Odd October for West Ham

Bobby Drew's men have endured a very tough month, with the results not being where they should.

West Ham 0-0 Blackburn

A boring match, a match West Ham would want to see the back off, a boring performance from both sides, 2 points dropped for The Hammers.

Liverpool 3-0 West Ham

A lackluster performance from the boys in claret and blue, they missed Carlton Cole. Probably deserved a goal for their second half performance, but it wasn't to be. A very strong Liverpool performance however.

West Ham
1-1 Aston Villa - Dyer

Kieron Dyer put in a very good performance for West Ham as they almost got a result over top 4 contenders Aston Villa. Dyer gave West Ham the lead midway through the first half, but was cancelled out in the 91st minute due to a James Milner rocket from outside the box. Drew must feel very hard done by at the end of the 90 minutes.

Also, fansites on the internet have praised the lineup for the Villa match, however some claiming that Gignac should not start, as he has missed too many crucial one-on-ones, which could win more games for West Ham, will he be dropped?

DREW GETS HIS BOYS PLAYING

After looking at the fixtures, most feared the worse for the month of November, especially as they were under a rookie manager. However, things turned out very different, and a month to savor and look back on for Drew and West Ham..

Bolton 0-2 West Ham - Salihovic, Cole

West Ham' first ever win on the Reebok Stadiums turf. A solid second half performance guaranteed them the win after a weak first half show. It all happened late on as Cole was tripped in the box. Salihovic stepped up and tucked the penalty away in the 85th minute. Just 5 minutes later, Cole scored his first goal of the season, as he slotted home a shot into the bottom corner from outside the box, in front of the travelling West Ham fans.

West Ham 1-0 Manchester United - Dyer

In a match where it was probably even up until the 70th minute, West Ham took all three points in a fashion that erupted Upton Park. As fans were leaving to beat the traffic thinking it was a good point for the Hammers, Kieron Dyer popped up in the 92nd minute to smash the ball past Van Der Sar after being played in by Salihovic. Drew leaped from his seat, and after regarded this as his best win since being in charge of his beloved West Ham.

Chelsea 2-0 West Ham

Scoreline was unfair on the Hammers, as in the end, home advantage took its toll as Chelsea ran out undeserved 2-0 winners. A strong showing from the Hammers however.

West Ham 4-1 West Brom - Dyer, Mcarthy (3)

A fantastic performance from Drew's men as they ran out 4-1 winners over a shoddy West Brom. Dyer opened the scoring, then Mcarthy took centre stage with 3 poachers goals. He started with Cole, and it paid of for the manager.

Other news

Bobby Drew has placed Andre-Pierre Gignac on the transfer list, as he has accumulated a rating of just 6.43 after starting the past 9 matches, only scoring 3 goals in the process.
Also, West Ham have secured the January signing of Rhoyston Drenthe from Real Madrid for 2.8million. Finally, to round of the month, Drew was named in 3rd place as manager of the month :)

Player of the month - Kieron Dyer, seen here in the England shirt, after his current form, outside bet for the World Cup?!

Decent December

It has been an OK month for the Hammers, but was marred by one fantastic result, and one devastating result, however, West Ham are still well placed to sneak into Europe.

Sunderland 1-1 West Ham - Cole

A spirited performance from West Ham which will please the boss after drawing in Wearside, Carlton Cole levelled for West Ham after Bent opened the scoring.

West Ham 1-0 Arsenal - Cole

Cole strikes again in a dominating performance for West Ham, ONCE again it was a late goal, as the England striker slotted home in the 91st minute .. (yes i jumped out of my seat:D) again against a top four side, and this at the time the Gooners were top of the league. A deserved performance which Robert Green played a pivotal part.

West Ham 0-1 Birmingham

One attack, one goal. Birmingham created nothing until a late goal in the 80th minute sealed the win for them after West Ham had the majority of the play. Drew knows this was a big opportunity missed.

West Ham
3-0 Blackpool - Cole (2), Salihovic

Another straight-forward victory for West Ham against a abysmal Blackpool side containing Championship quality players. A stroll in the park for Drew's boys.

Everton 5-1 West Ham - Cole

Boxing Day.. West Ham can be forgiven. 5-1 was extremely flattering to Everton, if had it been on another day, the Hammers could've had 5 but poor finishing costed them. Everton played well, but the 5 goals were very flattering considering their performance.

West Ham 2-0 Wigan - Dyer, Nouble

Wigan caused problems in the first half, but a calm finish from Kieron Dyer at the end of the half put the Hammers in the driving seat at the end of the half. West Ham were then comfortable in the second half and should've extended their lead, they did so through Frank Nouble who replaced Diamanti in the 76th minute.

Man City 2-0 West Ham

2-0 was extremely generous to West Ham who just couldn't live with City. Santa Cruz was on excellent form, but his finishing just wasn't there. City played some very nice stuff and took the lead. Endless chances for the Citizens but they failed to take them. They were so nearly going to pay the price, as Frank Nouble was set free by Parker, but his one on one attempt was tame, so it was easy for Given. City then added another in the last kick of the game.

Other news

Drenthe has joined the club and had said joining West Ham is like a 'breath of fresh air' as he knew his playing time at Madrid was limited. West Ham also finished the month in 9th place.

Steady January for West Ham

As the beginning of January came, Drew swooped into sign one player, Drenthe from Real Madrid. Kieron Dyer left for 2.3million, whilst West Ham negotiated an exciting swap with Shakthar Donestk which saw Andre-Pierre Gignac leave for 200k plus Brazillian playmaker Jadson. Which meant Jadson was on his way to East London.

---New East End Boy, Jadson.

Now to the action, which Bobby Drew has described as a 'disappointing month for the club.

FA CUP: West Ham 3-1 Birmingham - Cole (3)

After Birmingham took the lead, West Ham and in particular Carlton Cole, set the east end crowd on fire, as he played out of his skin to bag a hat trick, the last one coming from a penalty. Neat and tidy finishing was to describe Cole's finishing.. England? West Ham progress to play Liverpool at home in the next round (H)

West Ham 2-2 Fulham - Cole (2)

A game the Hammers should've buried, Cole again bagged a brace. Fulham equalised controversially in the 84th minute when Dempsey scored ommitedly from an offside position. The goal stood.

Wolves 2-2 West Ham - Cole, Salihovic

Again another match West Ham let slip away from them. Took the lead twice, but let a sloppy second equaliser in through Doyle. Sub Stanislas could have won the game for them in the 91st minute, but was stopped by the excellent Hennessey.

FA CUP: West Ham 0-1 Liverpool

West Ham were very unlucky not to have progressed, or even obtain a replay at the bare minimum. Liverpool were awarded a penalty after Kuyt was fouled by Mohammed Fofana in the box. Kuyt despatched in the 78th minute, and there was no way back as Fofana was sent off.

West Ham 1-2 Newcastle - Collison

Abysmal, West Ham played with no spirit or determination. Upson, Fofana, Tomkins all out, West Ham are leaking goals.

Tottenham 2-0 West Ham

West Ham's dreadful form continues, with a 2 nil defeat to their bitter rivals. Just 2-0 was flattering to West Ham, but could've been different if Cole had put away crucial chances in the first half West Ham dominated. Tottenham threw the kitchen sink at West Ham in the second half, and ran out 2 nil winners.

West Ham have swooped for 35 year old Deportivo Right back Manuel Pablo on loan till the end of the season. Drew has said this is the man to boost, and secure the right side of his side, so Behrami can move back to his more natual Right Midfield. Also, Drew has signed Honduran international David Suazo on a loan till the end of the season. Will Suazo and Cole work better than Cole and Gignac?

Player of the month: Robert Green

Robert-Green-005.jpg

Solid performances from Englands current number one.

West Ham finish the month in 10th place.

Wasteful West Ham

A month where good finishing could've won every game this month, none more so than when they played Stoke at home..

West Ham 3-3 Stoke - Cole (2), Jadson

After Cole put West Ham 2 nil up many thought this could be a real beating for Stoke. But the Potters, inspired by Ricardo Fuller who scored two fantastic solo goals, levelled things up. Jadson then put the Hammers back in front i the 83rd minute with a solo goal himself worthy of winning any game. But then back came Stoke, and in the 87th minute, Fuller bagged his hat trick, to the disgust of the East End crowd, West Ham had dropped another 2 points.

Blackburn 2-3 West Ham - Suazo (2), Cole

This is what being a West Ham fan is like, as described by Russell Brand, always on the egde of your seat, and nothing is safe. The hammers went 3-0 up on 55 minutes, courtesy of David Suazo who put in a excellent performance after Cole scored then went off injured. Again, many thought there could be some more. But in the 75th minute Blackburn got a goal back through Roberts, and again so in the 90th minute through Roberts again. At 90, 4 minutes went up on the board to the contrasting sighs from each fans.. West Ham held out, and their winless run ended.

West Ham 0-4 Liverpool

A embarrasing performance from West Ham which lacked many things. Fofana had a shocker, which lead to Upson almost having one. 4 goals was a fair reflection in a game the scousers dominated. West Ham now have to roll up their sleeves and deliver some determinating wins if they are to succeed in pursuing european football.

A miserable month for the Hammers..
