Liverpool's usual position

Hi all,

I am a Liverpool fan, but before starting my usual game with them I decided to play a season as Cardiff for a year just to get to grip with any changes. In that season Liverpool finished 11th in the end, my results against them were a draw and a loss and I had no significant transfer dealings with them.

I thought it was a bad season for them, so out of curiosity I ran a whole season (from the start of the 13/14 season again) without playing as any premier league team, just to see how it played out. Liverpool finished 1st! So I was wondering how there can possibly be such a wide range; 1st-11th at least, when I would have expected them be somewhere between 3rd-7th first season. I understand there is plenty of random number generating, but even so I wasn't expecting such a swing!

So my question is where have Liverpool ended up in your first seasons of the game?

Usually somewhere between 4th and 10th depending on how their team holds up.

In my first season with Wolves they sacked Rodgers after like five draws in a row & finished like 9th then they got AVB in. On one of my FM13 saves in the second season Liverpool got relegated finishing 18th & going down on goal difference!

Liverpool do tend to struggle a bit. And I'm a fan like you so it is annoying to see. On FM14 I've seen the club challenge for the Champions League and also struggle around mid table, having sacked Rodgers.

On FM13 I've seen them constantly finish amongst the top places and also get relegated in my longer term saves, they got relegated over 10 seasons in.

On any version of FM I've never seen them win the league though. I find the AI managers make some terrible decisions, like Guardiola took over on FM13 only a few seasons in, sold all the domestic players and then resigned a year later. And on this years version they will sell Lucas Leiva straight away and Coutinho the following year. They replace them with average signings and as well as never improving their stadium, they fall into the mid table places pretty easily.

It's random really, in my one save in FM13, I saw Arsenal finishing 19th, yes, 19th. And usually it's United who under performs in my saves with Arsenal always lurking at #3. The only team that's consistent is Manchester City on FM, they always come 1st or 2nd. Rodgers has been fired from Liverpool in my every single save, seems like SI just doesn't love him, Liverpool usually finishes 5th-11th. I'm a Chelsea fan so I usually play with Chelsea but whenever I don't, they play very dodgy, playing very well against competitive teams, losing to lower teams. Mourinho never gets sacked, Chelsea even finished 6th in my save (I was managing West Brom).
