Hello All,

This is my first post on the forum and I must say I find it fantastic! Some of all your posts are fascinating. I have decided to start a new game in the lower leagues of English Football. Due to the editing add on which allows to manager all the way to the 10th tier of football.

Ive read some fantastic stories of people taking clubs from this level through the divisions but I am really struggling. Its just so hard with 0 funds and weekly salary of £25 for players. I have decided to be Chester Le Street football club who are predicted for a 13th Place finish in the Northern League.

I am aware to try and keep tactics at this level as basic as possible due to the players abilities. However I am having real problems finding any decent players at this low a level who are willing to come to my club. Does anyone know or can suggest any players that are available who are either at tier 9 level and who are available, even tier 10 if they could make the step up or even ideally someone from higher who would fall within the minimal wage structure and be a good addition to the team.

Ive won the EPL so many times thats its become boring and even from div1 to the epl that I thought I would try from the bottom with a local team and see how far I can go. I am even thinking of creating a story on here about it if theres enough interest in it.

Also any help anyone can give with hints, tips etc for this level would be appreciated. Once again thanks for any help and like Ive said, this is a great site, keep it up everyone!

The best piece of advice I can give you when finding good players for LLM (especially lower than BSS/BSN) is don't think the same wasy as you did in the EPL. Don't worry about the stats to much as every player has **** stats at this level. You need to look at players past performances to see who's playing well. Look for slightly higher stats in the important attrubutes like finishing for a striker tackling for a defender. And by slightly higher at level 9 look for attributes of about 5 or 6. Remember stats are relative to the division you are playing in. So you look for 18, 19 or 20 in EPL but 4, 5 or 6 at level 9.

Hope this helps.

brilliant answers! thanks, i really appreciate all the help. I dont understand why everyone doesnt start at this level, so much more of a challenge to succeed and do well.

and hush baby, you success story makes for fascinating reading! I just hope to be half as successful!

the unfortunate curse of our careers in LLM management is that we are forced to trawl through endless players who weve never heard of, it may take ages but it is very rewarding

I am playing as Warlingham at the moment, just been promoted to level 8 starting from 10. I have managed to get players in on loan from premier league sides and in turn battered both divisions and won cups along the way. My mate is also doing it as Croydon Municipal and he has a team full of Reunion players and battering it as well, they will join for nothing and accept very low wages. Only problem is if you sign them as amateurs (no contract or wage) its likely they will be robbed off you for nothing. Organise your set pieces properly and get good dead ball specialists if poss, Darren Barnard being a must buy if you can get him from Camberley.

lol the old reunion 'cheat' i remember that one. i once had an entire team of reunion internationals take the field for havant and waterlooville on fm09

He didnt even open up the french players, straight to Reunion! Although hes in Jan/Feb in the first season he has already lost Patrick Vaz, ***** Robert, Eric Farro, Didier Caro and Rudi P the keeper to blue square sides!

***** robert is a god though.

I've used Reunion players before but it makes things to easy. They are great when you first start playing LLM but after a while you need more of a challenge.

Yeh that is true, i dont know why so many young prem players want to play on loan for me, never mind though taking full advantage!

Ive been reading about reunion players on some of the other threads on here but I am assuming I would need to start a new game to get this? Like everyone has said, its so challenging but I guess that what makes it addictive and fun. I didnt realise so many people worked from LLM upwards really,

When you start the game, go to database size option and select custom, then choose your size of database and it will give you an opportunity to load up players from selected countries - here you can choose Reunion and when you go into the games all the Reunion players will be sitting at their clubs waiting to be plucked!

You can also select France if you want instead as Reunion is owned by the French so a lot if not all have duel nationality causing no issues with work permits. Type Tampon in the search bar to bring up US Tamponnaisse and have a look through the quality that lies there. It is very achievable to gather a squad full of these boys on amateur contracts but be prepared to lose them to others who can offer wages the further the season you go. It also might be worth opening up other countries you feel may have players who would want to play at that level, N Ireland i have found to hold a few little gems.
