Loading Problems

Hi bought the football manager 2010 disc a few weeks ago, loaded it up and set up steam and everything was running ok. went to start it up for a game today and it said another game was already running on windows so i uninstalled the whole thing and tried to load it up again and im getting the same problems any ideas anyone .

Chances are your Steam is trying to connect when you're offline. I had this problem for a few weeks before I realized that I was on Online mode when I wasn't actually connected to a network, thus Steam trying (and waiting) to connect.

If that's not the case, I don't have the answer.

I fixed this by opening the Windows task manager, going to 'Processes', choosing 'Show processes from all users' and then ending the Steam process, it then all worked fine.
