Longford Town are a semi professional club playing in the Irish First Division which is the one below the top league. They have poor youth facilities and basic training facilities so this is something I will be aiming to change once the club is in a better position. Our stadium has a capacity of 6850 seats.

FIXTURES

View attachment 458461

I played on a few months just to make sure I was liking the team and the save and it is a pretty decent challenge. I have never managed such a small team so its unknown territory for me. Some decent results in the league see us sitting nicely in 1st place with 16 games played. We also had a decent go against Derry in the League Cup who are actually qualified for the Europa League. We beat Waterford Utd in the Senior Challenge Cup in the secound round which was also a decent result.

LEAGUE TABLE

View attachment 458460

As you can see we are 3 points clear in the league which is decent enough. Athlone Town are our rivals so it will be nice to beat them and finish in top spot. +12 goal difference is also very promising as it shows the strikers actually have some ability.

KEY PLAYER

Derek O'Brien
View attachment 458459

Derek O'Brien is one of the oldest players at the club and is certainly our best performer on the pitch. His stats in the league are not the greatest but he is our most consistent performer.

Daniel Purdy
View attachment 458458

This guy is the other way round from O'Brien as he has not got the best average match rating but he has scored the most goals for our side.

Thanks for reading and lets get some glory at Longford!!

FIRST SEASON REVIEW

View attachment 458334

We played top division side Shelbourne in the Senior Cup 3rd round and got beat 2-1 but it was a very decent performance and it took them until the 92nd minute to take the win. A very rough and tumble list of fixtures here with some good results and also some poor results. Daniel Purdy who I mentioned in the OP has lived up to the hype and is still firing in lots of goals for our club.

LEAGUE TABLE

View attachment 458333

We done what was expected from us and we won the league by 6 points. A decent performance in the league and I am looking forward to playing in the top division of Irish Football against coolmcool's Limerick! Lets hope this is the start of a legacy for Longford Town and lets hope we don't get relegated at the first glance of success!

PLAYER STATS

View attachment 458331

Overall, some decent performances from the lads but three players stood out. Purdy, O'Brien and Deans were the top players in this side. Purdy was a very good striker, O'Brien lead the midfield line from the flank and Deans played a key role in holding our defensive line.

FINANCES

A decent season which sees our finances rise which is always nice when building a club up.

LONGFORD SECOND SEASON

NOTE: My FM-Base wasn't loading earlier so I played on before I made a post so I am already 22 games into the season.

View attachment 458137

Most players that were at the club didn't want to stay so I had to sign loads of other players to fill the positions. We got some decent players in on frees.

KEY PLAYERS

Cillian Morrison
View attachment 458136

Cillian Morrison is on loan from U.C.D but is available on a free transfer and I have already offered him to join the club on for next season. As you can see he has netted 20 goals in 19 games.

Apart from this guy there is not alot players that stand out they just do their job.

FIXTURES

A very decent run in the Top Division in Irish Football. We started off the campaign very decent beating Limerick away and Derry City at home. We then went down hill only picking up one point out of a possible 12. We were also knocked out of the cups in the rounds we entered in which doesn't help as it didn't bring in much money.

Monthly Updates from now on

AUGUST

View attachment 458104

A decent month starting off decent and then losing two games. We ended the month with a 7 goal thriller edging it vs Dundalk. Paul Murphy has stepped up in place of the injured Morrison and has banged in 5 goals.

LEAGUE TABLE

View attachment 458101

We are doing very well in the league sitting in 3rd place even if Sligo win they are still one point behind us. We are predicted to finish bottom so 3rd place is a decent way to go about things in our first season.

PLAYER OF THE MONTH

View attachment 458099

Murphy has stepped up a mark since Morrison has fallen injured and when Morrison is back he will partner along side the on form Murphy.

END OF SEASON 2

Youth Intake

View attachment 458092

A decent youth intake with a few players I will be looking to sign on contracts. The ones that are 4 - 5 star potential will be joining the reserves.

FIXTURES

View attachment 458090

Overall, a decent end to the season winning most of the games. The only loss was to Shamrock Rovers who are a very good side anyway. Lets see where we ended up placing after our 1-1 draw in the final game.

LEAGUE TABLE

View attachment 458088

We was predicted to come last and against all odds we ended up finishing in 3rd place which means we are into the Europa League 1st qualifying round!

A disappointing time for newly promoted Waterford and Limerick as they both were relegated. The point Bohemians got against us in the final game meant they survived relegation by one point.

PLAYERS OF THE SEASON

View attachment 458085

Morrison and Murphy played very well together and won most of our games for us. Morrison is on loan but I have offered him a contract to join full time which means him and Murphy can continue to dominate the league.

FINANCES

View attachment 458084

The finances are looking great as we seem to be making profits in most months.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

So next season we have Europa League football for the first time in the clubs history.

3RD SEASON

View attachment 458065

Again just another season of free transfers as we was given no budget to spend, I cant wait to make this club big and start getting money to spend.

ALL IRELAND CUP 1ST ROUND

View attachment 458064

We lost the 1st leg 3-2 but we dominated them in the second leg at home winning by 5 goals to 1.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lets hope we can win the league this year and earn a little revenue from the Europa League qualifying games

3RD SEASON REVIEW

NOTE: I am only going to do season reviews now as I am not getting the interest in this story that I was hoping for.

LEAGUE TABLE

View attachment 457574
An amazing season after last years close call getting into 3rd place I felt the team could push higher. However, the media thought we wasn't good enough and predicted we would sit comfortably in the middle of the table. We had an amazing season only losing 3 games all season which is pretty impressive.

EUROPA LEAGUE

View attachment 457573
We was expected to be knocked out in the first round so we done well to beat Hungarian side Honved. CSKA (Sofia) proved to strong in the 2nd knockout round and beat us with ease but we did do well to put 4 past them over the two legs.

ALL IRELAND CUP

View attachment 457572
Our first time in the All Ireland Cup and we went all the way to beat Sligo Rovers in the final. Thats our second trophy this season.

LEAGUE CUP

View attachment 457571
The league cup gave us more success as we smashed Derry in the final 5-1. We had a pretty tough run leading up to the finals playing teams like Limerick and St Pat's Athletic.

SENIOR CHALLENGE CUP

View attachment 457569
We have won every competition we entered in Ireland which is great for the finances and squad morale.

FINANCES

View attachment 457568
Look at that balance 1.1 million!!!! Our finances have rocketed up this season. Champions League next season will only boost them even more.

SEASON FOUR PREVIEW

View attachment 457549

Not a very active transfer window only signing 3 players on frees but we had to let go of a few players as they did not want to renew their contracts.

View attachment 457548

We also signed some more staff including Jamie Carragher Liverpool legend and David Forde the ex Millwall goalkeeper.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Still no professional status for the club so I am hoping after this season when we have played in the Champions League the board will let me change our club to professional.
