Looking for quality stopper (CB), big budget

I'm trying to find a stopper to deputise for (or even become number one choice ahead of) Ryan Shawcross. Start of 2014/15 season, Spurs. I should be challenging for the title (won champions league last year) and have up to £30m to spend .

Generally play stopper/cover combo, sometimes just both on D-duty against teams playing two poacher-ish strikers. Other CBs are Nkoulou, wonderkid regen (good enough to start, covering CB), and Shawcross. I've bid up to £30m for Papadopoulos but Schalke won't sell for less than £40-45m (asking for £50m at the moment). Also tried to get Phil Jones - every bid up to £24m rejected outright (there may have been some rivalry between myself and Alex Ferguson in the press... . Otamendi at Barca & won't leave. Had a speculative £12m offer for Pepe surprisingly accepted but wage demands are a bit excessive (£165,000 + big bonuses & fees). Using medium database so can't find some of the players suggested on similar threads (Zouma, etc). Any suggestions?

Howedes? Hummels? Subotic? In the mean time, work on upsetting Papadopoulos so he might hand in a transfer request or something. And even with a medium database, you should be able to find Kurt Zouma, as long as you have Ligue 1 loaded. He plays for St.Etienne.

Kara!!!!!

Kara is definitely an elite stopper (one of the best in the game if you develop him...not sure how Tromso or whoever signs him will develop him). He starts off real cheap, but he turns into a beast. Astori is also sick. I play Astori as a cd-d (occasionally stopper if I don't play a dm) and Kara as my cb-c, but that is only because I want him as the last man back...his best position is def stopper and he plays dm (and is good with the ball at his feet). Killer.
