Losing players with 6 month contracts

Playing with Dundee United and have had 2 decent seasons and am on a third. 2014 second in the SPL, Scottish and League Cup won. 2015 second in the SPL (by a point urgh) and League Cup won again.

Obviously all my players got pretty big headed and I ran into problems where the players want to move to a bigger club, I promise them we'll win the title and they continue on their way till the end of the season. In 2014/2015 season both Gary Mackay-Stevens and Stuart Armstrong cried about this at the start of the season, however GMS only had 1 year left. In December he signed a pre-contract with Leicester and I lost him, he wouldn't sign a new contract due to the whole win the league thing.

This season i have the same problem with Andy Robertson who is a lot more important to the team than GMS, I've just gotten to December and had him fire his agent however he still won't discuss contracts with me, any ideas to save him? He already has offers.

To be honest you have left it too late I'm afraid, you shouldn't let key players contracts run down to even a year left. I've played a Dundee Utd save and I know how key Robertson and Armstrong are.

Uh oh, well I've got him for the rest of the season at least and really decent looking youth LB (offers of 750k at 16) so not the end of the world, still disappointing.

Yeah, Hamilton accies have a good lb, can't remember his name but worth checking out.

Awesome I'll try find him. To update Everton offered him 14k per week so he's off at the end of the season, he will remain in the team unlike GMS though haha.
