im having a problem with no goals despite 15-20 shots per game.
i am using the goals galore tactic downloaded from here...... help!!!!

Likely finishing stats need to be higher on your goalscorers. Watch out for that, because if you can create the chances but not put them away, that's often the culprit. Also, you might just be taking a bunch of long range shots that the goalie can easily save, try to set your instructions to not fire off a shot as soon as they can see the goal.

It is because the developers don't want human players to be able to win by picking good players and good tactics. They say this is unrealistic. So they make the game so that you automatically lose a lot with no way you can affect the outcome. For 'realism'. That's why your great strikers get 30 shots on goal and miss them all, while the ai's rubbish striker gets one shot per match and scores. The developers think that is realistic. And realism > fun.

Not sure if joking.....or conspircy theorist

They call it rubber banding. When you are doing too well the difficulty increases. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynamic_game_difficulty_balancing That's why in some games it seems the ai's goals have a wall in front of them. The ai decides its time for you to start losing and that's that. The developers want a realistic number of goals scored per player per season and so on. You will never win 10 - 0, because the ai will not allow it. When you hit a losing streak you may as well rest your good players. There's nothing you can do to change it.

Well thats **** as I have had won 1 match 11-3 in my level 14 database save so that blows that out the water,. Along with a 9-1 victory of which I posted the picture. So........yeah

Pretty sure I'm right. Dynamically adjusting difficulty is standard practice. Of course, I don't code the game, so I cannot prove this. How do you explain OP's experience of good players inexplicably missing dozens of chances?

yeah mate, thats a bunch of BS :) Wikipedia is not a valid source for information anyway :)

I have seen people using the exploit tactics and scoring over 100 goals for one player..

Could be true that you can always win with cheats. Pretty sure the difficulty still changes, though.

Not really. A popular cheat is taking charge of an opponent on match day and picking the worst side/tactics/formation, and gubbing them. Or using FMRTE. But it just seems absolutely pointless to me.

If the difficulty was always the same there would be no change in form throughout the season. I'm pretty sure everyone who plays has experienced a spell of 'poor form' or bad luck. That doesn't mean cheats wont work, it just mean things like the chance to score get adjusted down and up. Seems likely the developers like to keep the stats realistic. That's why, unless you are cheating, you wont have a striker get 60 goals in a season, even if he should. Not saying 60 goals a season, or even a game isn't possible, especailly with cheats. Just that the ai will adjust to make it very unlikely.

yeah these exploits/flaws should override the settings (thats why they are called exploits) but I dont think so mate..

its all down to the manager:

1) team talks are VITAL
2) tactics/formations/player selection and fitness
3) pitch conditions/weather, these play a big part in matches.. if you play a possession based game and its ******* down with rain and gail force winds.. its not a good idea etc..

player form (still something I want to see added to Fm...)

I do agree with you on that mate :) it does happen that you get in a bad run of form.. but that does not always happen after thrashing teams 10:0 etc.. it just happens regardless! so there is some truth to what you are saying, but I am not sure if its 100% true!

PPM's can be added to the list as well! they play a big part in finishing chances as well as the players stats!

fyi the team being used is liverpool and strikers are suarez and carroll also
also someone mentioned ppm are preset. resetting these makes the players score more realistically??

Hi tiggerteach,

maybe you just use the wrong formation/tactic for the games in which you can't score despite many shots on goal.
For example, I experienced that when I play against decent or good teams with two DMs i can't use my normal tactics with only 1 striker. With only 1 striker its very hard to penetrate a defence with 2 good DMs. The result is that I have many shots and half chances but hardly any shots on goal or clear cut chances. In this case i switch to a special formation with 2 strikers.

I also noticed that when i play against better and more experienced teams (e.g. Champions Cup knock out stage) I always need more clear cut chances to score then the opponents team. This is really frustrating but its kinda realistic. They have more experienced and determined players and more composure, so they just need 1-2 chances to score and you need 5 or 6...

Goofyco
