I have decided that my first save on FM15 will start in League 1 and with my local side Walsall.

I am going to be completely honest and say I haven't got a clue about Walsall's players or even players at that level. You could call me a bit of a Premier League snob.

Anyway, I am unsure what my transfer kitty is just yet as I haven't loaded up the game but I imagine it's very low if anything at all.

So I am looking for tips for lower league bargains/free transfers who will/can make pretty much an instant impact on my team.

Thanks in advance

Even lower league bargins

I'm playing as Portsmouth (up Pompey and all that) in League 2.

Minimum expectation from the board is to get promoted so we're probably talking similar level players.

1st advice - don't be afraid to use your loan limit (8/season in League 1) BUT leave some for January.

Raid Scotland - Celtic have a few loanable or even buyable for a couple of £100K. Have a look at Eoghan O'Connell (CD) and Liam Henderson (CM).

In the spirit of evening things out, get Sebastien Faure from Rangers for <£40K.

Raid Scandinavia - pay those pesky Vikings back! Cherry-pick the Danish, Norwegian and Swedish U21 international teams. Far better value than English or other 'Major League' countries. They are all EU so work permits not an issue.

e.g. Iver Fossum & Daniel Berntsen is pretty much my centre midfield.

Which reminds me, even if you buy and get a WP for a couple of South American wonder kids, odds are they won't arrive for a few transfer windows.

Sean Kavanagh (Fulham) is doing a job for me at left back.

Omar Rowe (Southampton) can play on either wing.

Let us know how you get on.

Get Will Keane on loan. First season I got him on a free loan, he scored 39 goals. Boy did good.

I got Barnet promoted out of the conference. The player I'd recommend is Padraig Amond from Morecambe, I got him on a three month loan,he scored 11 goals in his first five matches, got him on a permanent for 5k in January. He scored 24 from November to May, a time that included a two month injury, he is a must buy for conference sides.

Also got Olly Lee and Jake Hessenthaler on loans, quality centre mids in the conference. Both initial loans.

£38K before the 1st season - this was in the beta. Made 32 appearances and scored 7 goals so far in 1st season.

Lower League Free players

Would recommend:

- Slimane Sissoko; 1m88 good pace ; 2.5 star rating in l2 with 4.5+ potential ; cheap wages

- Grant Adam ; Scotland -21 keeper, Decent L1 Keeper with good CHMP potential; Cheap wages

- Franck Héry ; 1m86 CM ; Good attacking midfielder ; Good L2 ability great potential, quick progression if played, cheap wages; slightly injury prone in the lower leagues, great with possesion based football

Matt Godden was a good ST for my Bristol rovers save, scored about 25ish goals in 7/8 months.
