Lucas Barrios. Good or Bad?

I took a look around the forums for a post on him, but couldn't find any apart from one that was from FM09. So thought I'd make one. Anyway...

What is your views on him? I'm in my first season with Spurs and I always turn the first transfer window budget off. I asked my board to sign him as he looked pretty decent. They payed £17m for him and put him on £70,000 a week wages. I was a bit worried as it was more of a punt at him as I've never used him before. I'm into December and he's already hit 17 goals for me. That's not including 4 he has scored for his country.

One of my favourite south american strikers :) Although his composure was always a problem for me ..
 
think hes a great player mate, i wouldn't say £17million worth but if yoru board are paying then who cares lol
 
Exactly. I had no money to spend as I don't usually have the first transfer window on. So I asked the board, and got a bit nervy when they got him for £17m as it took a big chunk out of my funds. It now seems that he was a great signing as he's bagging in the goals and he's put me at the top of the league.
 
amazing player!!! i bought him to spurs too!!! simply amazing.. also with him, i bought sahin & hummels, all three of them won the premier league for me..
 
matty, which player instructions do you use for him? i've signed him for west ham up front with cole, but he's only scored 6 in 14 :S
 
Thats just because he's adapting, some times players take some time to play at their best.

Poacher mate I'm guessing... Coles a Poacher too so probably not the best partnership, unless you play Cole as a Target Man (Attack).

How much did he cost you by the way?
 
He's a great player, play him as a Poacher or an Adv. Forward and he smacks them in.
 
i got some money by getting west ham in the euro cup, spent most of it on him.
12m originally but an extra 15m when he scores 30 league goals..

Well as soon as I got him.. in my match preparation screen I decided to do the main focus as team blend so they can all play well together, after that they do magic. I'm only a couple of games into second season and he's scored a hat-trick. I play him as a Poacher with Luis Suarez/Park Chu Young/ Christian Benitez.

What do you play Christian Benitez as beside him mate? I'm looking at him as well, by the sounds of things I'll make him a priority! Benitez is more of a poacher too though, no?
 
always sign him when i can afford him guaranteed me 20 gls a season on three previuos saves

PD: He is from Argentina not Paraguay.

he naturalized to play the world cup, because Argentina have a lot of strikers
 
he's not doing well in my Tottenham in first season :S
He plays alone forward and role is Poacher, and he's not doing great job as I expect..
will see in second season how he plays
