making a new cup

Good morning everyone, I'm a newbie to the new editor format.

I have created a new league set up with the top division having 20 teams and three seperate lower divisions containing 10 teams.

I would like to create a National Cup for these leagues but I'm having trouble creating it due to the teams added ant which stage, teams from the previous stage etc.

Can anyone please give me advice on how this can be achieved as I've got the new FM2010 patch and editor and havent seven started a game as I dont want just a league game.

When you add the Cup to the nation you are editing and assign divisions it should automatically create the Cup Stages (or rounds). If not ................

The dates would have to be changed obviously. Any problems gimme a shout
 
i got problem on this one...

when i set for 1st round 16 team 8 match
for 2nd round should be 8 team n 4 match

but the system say 2nd round doesn't match with the 1st rounds..
 
Still having problems, teams entered in 3rd round doesnt match previous etc. please help, dont want to use any one else data base as its taken ages to edit my own. I have 20 teams in the Premier League, 10 in the 1st, 2nd amd third. Just a quick thought....

When creating the league do I have the Premier League then have sub divisions, please excuse my ignorance but its a lot different from previous editors I've used.

chenks - No Sub division not needed - just make sure your leagues have competition levels assigned - and they are in correct order in your nation rules league tab.

When you added the cup tour cup tab - when the editor asked you for divisions did you choose all 4 of your divisions ? if not just remove cup from your rules and add it again.

for your 3rd round problem - check that you have 50 teams in your cup - you will see this on the cup main page
 
now i success create 1 cup with group stage without problem... cheers..

Just would like to share, the cup round must always divided by 2 !! at the end must 2 team for final.

example : there are 8 group - top 2 team qualify

8 x 2 = 16 team

on cup round screen should be set like this :-

matches : 8 team added : 16 - first rounds.
matches : 4 team added: 8 - quarter final
matches : 2 team added : 4 - semi final
matches : 1 team added : 2 - final

but i wondering how to make Qualifying rounds before the groups stage seeding..
anyone got idea?

you only need to add teams for the first round after group stage

you cant make qualifying rounds before group stage with the basic editor rules - although you may be able to do this with the advanced ruleset
 
hopefully someone will teach me how to use advanced ruleset.. ^_^
 
well how bout u try create new competition for playoff and make it as a cup to that nation...
and make ur cup take teams from the playoff cup...
hey what nation do u edit??
 
i already tried, but it seem did not work coz there are no team inside those playoff cup..
anyway thank for that suggestion.. but if u made it work in near in the future, let me know.. thanks..

I am editing Malaysian league.. actually our league a little ****-off hahaha!!! JK..
I just try to make it more competitive league and got active fantasy lower league such as Regional division and Youth league (promotion n relegation) .. ah well a lot of club to set it up 1/4 on the work progress..
Should take sometime to complete. Now i am focusing on important part ( relegation to regional division) keep crash.... so i must set it up back to make sure promotion n relegation going to work well..
actually i am using Real City name.. so must set true regional for it... T.T

Super league , Premier League , National League 1 & 2 , Champion League North, East, West, South, First Division North, East, West, South, West-North, West-South, South-East, North-East, and Regional Divison (16 league) = 32 active league x 20 team .. haha.. gonna take a month or more to complete it (without logo n kits)

work status : finished collecting n distribute city name to be club name.
Next job : Create new malaysia club (i just edit from any Extinct club to make sure there not database heavy load) haha

Wondering : Kits Color n logos but optimistic on it huhu..

I had test my create league n cup, everything look smooth for senior team, now i tried to create Youth League...
Since we cannot put more than 30 team in one active league.

How i wanna make U18 have active league since after i set for general rules, only 1st division got their U18 league.. it ******* me off..
I have more than 400 youth team so i decide to make inactive league and all U18 team inside 1 league.
after that i create 1 league cup and make 20 group for them. so all U18 team have own fixture back.. lol

i hope u all understand what i mean,, haha
 
did u enable the youth league at the general setting for the nation rules??
 
yup.. but only 1 groups showing... so i decide recreate it... so i got more better youth league now.. ^_^

since i already got Champion Youth League (CYC) and Youth U18 league , so i decide to create super cup to both league.. more fun..
 
owh...
so the club u replace the unused club...
how bout the players??

50 teams = 25 games = 25 winners

How do 25 remaining winners progress to a 2 team final??

e.g 25 remaining teams = 12 games and one team left over????

Ami being really silly and missed something obvious??

round one should have the third division teams 10 teams,

the winners ( 5 teams ) progress to the next round which includes the 2nd division teams ( 10 more teams ) which gives a total of 15 teams?????

How can 15 teams play to get to the next round to meet the first division teams???

I f I have the 3rd and 2nd round teams playing in the first round ( 20 teams = 10 winners )

the first division teams now enter the competition giving 20 teams = 10 winners.

Now the problem begins, the 20 teams from the premier division play the 10 remaining teams =

30 teams????

u should set for a cup tab like this :


32 game / 64 team <-- it will First round after group stage..
16 game / 0 team <-- it will Second round
8 game / 0 team <--- Third round
4 game / 0 team <-- Qtr final
2 game / 0 team <- semi final
1 game / 0 team <- final

Only u set like this it will be working.. otherwise there are more team inside you're cup..

by the way if u create a cup without a league first..
it should be no problem if u are have 50 team only, bcoz the editor will set for u itself.. if i am not mistake.. so u should not change it at cup tab..

i am still figure out on player issue, currently it auto regen all player in my league (for lower league),
I am totally lazy to find out real player name... haha..
