So for my first FM 17 save I have embarked on a save with AFC Bournemouth like I normally do.

I am in Jan of the first season and riding high in the top 6 due to an on fire Wilson and Ibe.

My question is how do I buy out Liverpools Buy back clause on Ibe? There appears to be functionality to do so as he has a £ sign next to his name in the clause list and there is a grayed out box under the £20m clause.

Ibe is currently worth £24.5m so I do exactly want this clause hovering about for much longer or Liverpool could get an absolute steal!

you can't buy that clause, if Ibe is performing well that means he'll be a target for the big teams in the summer so try to accept any high offer for him ASAP before liverpool activate the clause

i'll do that if i was in your place

That is a shame!

But then why would they build in a button for this clause? I could accept that I cannot buy it out if said button didn't exist!

Maybe the option to buy it out only comes after a set amount of time passes? Like Liverpool might have specified it can't be bought out within say 3 years, but after that they're open to it?

Or perhaps it's only if they're willing to allow you to buy it out, and at this time they're not

the button exist even in FM16, probably its like a note for you to keep in mind that any time they can buy him again, sorry for the bad news bro

You could as mentioned sell, but if you are wanting to keep him a little longer give him a new contract whenever LFC shows interest. If he sign he would decline Liverpools offer, considering the size of Liverpool he would probably not be interested to stay in Bmouth for long....
