BREAKING NEWS: SEEKINGS TAKES OVER AS EVERTON MANAGER
Days of speculation have finally ended as Everton FC have hired Adam Seekings, an unknown manager from Yorkshire, to take over as the clubs new manager. Many Everton fans are angry with the decision that Kenwright has made, saying that a manager with more experience should have been hired. Sky Sports News have this exclusive interview with the new Everton boss.
Sky Sports News: Mr Seekings, you sit here today as the new manager of Everton FC. Is this your dream job?
Adam Seekings: I am pleased that the Everton board have given me this opportunity, especially with me having so little experience in football management. But I'm going to do my best, and show the club that they made the right decision.
SSN: How do you feel you will compare to Everton's former manager, David Moyes?
AS: David was an amazing manager for the club, and stayed with them through their darkest times. But that was in the past. I can't focus on what Moyes would have done had he still been manager. I have to trust my own judgement and make my own decisions.
SSN: Everton's previous managers have been noticed for their tactical approach. How do you plan on dealing with the tactical side of the game?
AS: As a team, we have to make sure we have a balanced approach to every game we play. It would be pointless having an amazing strike-force if we can't keep our defensive line in shape.
SSN: Everton were predicted to qualify for Europe last season. Failure to do this left some fans very disappointed. Do you see this being their year?
AS: It will definitely be a difficult task this year, as there are a lot of clubs who are aiming for Europe. But with a lot of hard work and results going in our favour, I can't see why we can't qualify.
SSN: Speculation has been running wild that Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines are being chased by some big name teams. Do you think you can keep these players at the club?
AS: Ideally, I would like to keep both players at the club, as they are key players for the team. But when big-name clubs come calling, it might become difficult for us to convince them to stay.
