This is my first attempt at a story and I've set myself a tough challenge. Im going to try and win the champions league with a team from Malta. Hibernians are teamed with a history of success and are expected to get third place in the league. I hope to win it. This year the team are in the Europa League so i've a good chance of getting a healthy income.

Europa League Campaign
In the first round we had to play Levadia of Estonia, I wasn't manager for the first leg which ended in a 0-0 draw. We then went to Estonia for the second leg

We only got going in the second half and we really should have killed them off. They were lucky to get a goal but im very happy we got into the next round.
In the second round we faced AaB of Denmark. This was always going to be a challenge and it proved to be.

We were demolished. Played very poorily in the both legs and only scored in the latter due to poor defending.

The finanacial aspects from this are great and will invest the, back in the club.

We've had a fantastic start even if we didnt win the super cup. We've scored plenty of goals but my defense hasnt played the way i would like and that is a concern.

Obinna has been on great form but his injury has hit us hard and we've struggled without him

We had a disastrous run in the cup, a winnable competition. Could have easily lost the first match and were slaughtered in third round. Im very dissapointed.

Our poor form from the previous months continued but we seem to eventually snap out of it, even though we are still conceding numerous goals from poor defending and goalkeeping.

We are still in first but not by a comfortable amount. Our defensive performances have left us down and that is the main factor why are just ahead in the league.

This is the only player I signed. I needed cover up front after suffering numerous injuries. He has proved to be a gem and has scored five goals in his first six games.

My Squad needs rapid improvement if I want to win the title again and I have taken a few steps towards that.

Ibok Edet is a young defender who I hope can shore up my defence
Diego Ortega is a skilful attacking midfielder who is only 21
Jesmond Bezzina is a winger that I have for the future


European Campaign
We met Zelejnicar in the second round of Champions League Qualifying. They are a club of similar stature to us.

Good result for us. Dominated both legs but my defence has not improved in any fashion.
We met Fram of Iceland in the next round.

Start Of The Season
A good start to the season was needed after our exit from European football and my squad duly delivered.

November-January
Its happened again. Last year my formed dipped during this time of the year and this year is no different.

We lost some unnecessary games and our defence continued to leak goals. We have not been scoring goals like weve been used to.

Now weve lost first place. Given our recent form we have an uphill battle to get it back seeing the way Valetta are performing.​
 
January-March
Another tough spell for us as we lost some very easy games. Were also not scoring as much as id like due to Obinna being ruled out for five months in my first game in January.

End Of Season​
Were in second place and winning the league is a must. The challenge is great but can it be done.

Our form has substantially improved and to cap it all off we beat Valetta. But was it enough to win the league.

Yes we can. Valetta had a poor end to the season and we pounced at the chance to regain top spot. Even though we got more points than the previous year Im not as happy and can count myself lucky.

Andrew Cohen again was my top player but he didnt play as well as he capable of in the middle of the season​
 
Such a close league, you can lose 8 games and yet still win the title. Thank god you didn't draw any games although probably would have come 3rd or 4th!
 
Awards
After our succesful title defence Clayton Failia was named our player of the year.

Our left back turned left mid was very consistent for us always getting the regular assist and the odd goal mainly coming from the penalty spot. Always gets a high rating and never turns in a bad performance. I would have chosen him or new signing Diego Ortega, my attacking midfielder who only could score in multiple amounts.

Euro Run
We again qualified for European qualification but faced a tough task if we are going to reach the group stages.In the second round we met Red Star Belgrade of Serbia

A competent second leg performance helped us complete the near impossible. Never thought we'd win and delighted we've had.
