Although this is my first post on this forum I have monitored it for some time as I find the site fairly useful.

But to the point, I have been managing Man Utd for three seasons, but in the forth season the tactics are taking ill-effect and i feel the team is in need for a bit of a shake up. I am finding wide players and creative players are not having much effect, i rarely buy players as i try as hard as i can to produce homegrown talent, which to is not going so well.

My main request is there any tactics that anyone can suggest which incorporates wide players well but also has the players playing like a team and not individually. Sorry if i am being fussy/detailed i just never really understood how to use detailed individual tactics. personally i prefer tactics where the team keeps the ball and scores goals, formations like 4-3-3 or 4-4-2

Any help would be much appreciated.

I have a tactic which works really well with Man Utd.....its a simple 4-5-1 counter attack tactic with Rooney linking up with the Midfield and Nani and Valencia providing the width on the flanks

Maybe a 4-4-2 with wingers rather then right and left midfielder's, if thats what you mean

firstly choose a style you want to play. i have one style with my united side, but several different formations. the united side is very versatile. i play a creative fluid posession based game, use wide players to stretch the opposition and my creative central midfield to destroy the opposition through the middle
