manager chat

Hi just a quick one. Ive just got football manager 2011 and ive seen the manager chat feature but when i search for a friend we cant find each other is there something i need to install or turn on in preferences...

Any help greatly appreciated, thanks

I think it is just for network games and if servers don't provide chat features themselves, there is a default chat programme in-game to cater that problem.

I think its the in game one im trying to use theres a button called manager chat and then a search bar i type my mates name in when hes online playing his game but no one comes up with that name
