I'm just wondering if there's anyone els that can't get into a game when managing the team you support? As a Man Utd fan, I tend to play my first game as them but I seem to stick with the same squad. I don't like to sell or buy anyone even though I know that there are areas to be improved. I'm even reluctant to sell the likes of Nani and Gibson even though I know they aren't good enough to be a Ubited regular. It might be different for others who support lower division teams as it's a challenge to get promoted ext. but going straight into the game as Man Utd doesn't work for me anymore. Is anyone who supports one of the top Premiership clubs the same or am I on my own here?

i do that with liverpool i dont like buying players because i like it to be exactly like the real thing

with man city i didnt want to sell any players i thought they were all good but someone who didnt support city might not have thought the same. Same with my old mk dons account didnt sell anyone.

Same, I will buy and sell but can't play more than a couple of seasons tops without starting a new game with someone else

I find it much easier to manage other teams simply because I get really annoyed when I start losing even though its just a game!

i just find arsenal too hard. not sure why tho lol !!!

I'm the same with Portsmouth but I can't really spend with them even if I wanted to <)

I don't think I've ever played a game as Liverpool for longer than five minutes.. Might try it one day though :/

I have to manage West Ham first before anything else.

Glad to see I'm not alone with this then, think I'll be sticking to managing the Welsh teams for now. Like seeing the likes of Cardiff, Swansea, Newport and Wrexham doing well even if it has to be on the game

With Chelsea i can bring in players but i can't get rid of the deadwood cos i like the team too much :/

I find it the easiest to manage the team i support cause i want them to win, i could easily do ten years with arsenal

You may not get very far xD But then again your probablly a better manager than Benitez atm.

I must Agree, I find manging the team I support easu and though at times inrl Ill say get them out! and then on fm2010 ill get all soft but at the end of the day ill make the changes to the squad that need to be made cause I want them to do well and by making changes is the only way forward when your lacking that extra something to win majo trophies

I have my confidence in Sir Alex to win things for United. And hate seeing the old man jobless if I take over

I normaly cant get into a game as Sheff Wed as i hate losing as them but this year i am 4th in championship after 14 games although all teams around me have a game in hand, i was mad at losing to sheff u 4-2 but 3 draw's and 3 wins since has stood me in good stead i have only signed Peter Brezovan and Leon Best i got on loan for 3 months at end of sep im aiming for playoffs this year

I am just like it with my favourite teams... even with other teams I don't like to change too much, I prefer to keep things how they are in real-life lol. I normally start the game with no transfer budgets allowed as well.

I've never managed a top tier team from the start, mostly playing with Leeds, and I never had any real attachment with the starting players anyway.
The first season I usually changed half the team and after the first promotion the other half.

Just picked up FM 10 so let's see how it will turn out this year with Delph gone, who used to be the only player of the original squad left once I reached the Premier League....
